i know ,one of the most dragged out topics ,BUT,,i keep reading different answers,ok ,i bought a 3 in pro comp lift , spacers and blocks, now i read everyone sayin NOOOO dont do that, so i decided just level out front , 2in puts me strait ! trucks just a daily driver ,no mud 4x4 just snow and asphalt ,,will a simple 1in top spacer get me close enough , or even 1 1/4 driver and 1 on pass to correct lean work .thanx

I have a 2011 TRD off road prerunner. also a daily driver. I like your self wanted to just level out the front. So what I went with is the 5100's set @ o and the OME 883's up front. It gave me 1 3/4 on the drivers side and just a little under 2 in. on the pass side. For the rear I went with just the 5100's. It rides better then stock and it looks level to me. I am very happy with the way it turned out!! Having a hard time posting pics but check out my photo gallery.

I have a 2013 TRD Sport .... First Tacoma (jeep previously) and I Love it !!
After talking to a local performance garage , I went with his experience and recommendation ... I put a "Suspension Maxx" leveling kit on ... The kit , the install and alignment cos $450
Suspension Maxx is adjustable and comes with spacers to keep the shocks working full stroke , it also has a 1" drop spacer for the differential to keep your drive shaft in line .
I went with 21/2 front lift as I'm putting a bumper and winch on.
I cannot be any Happier with this set up ... Looks good and works good.
    You won't be Sorry
    The price was right too
    Good Luck on your decision.

Honestly, if you're just leveling the truck, 5100's up front set at 1.75" should do it and you probably wont even notice the lean.

Theres lots of guys running spacers and block without any issues .

Dont read into it to much, just buy a lift that fits your needs. Dont base your decision on other opinions do your own research .

If your truck spends 90% of its life on pavement a spacer lift isnt the worst thing you can do .

Didn't work for my 2013 DC LB. I had to add a 1" block to bring up the rear to level it off after installing the 5100"s @ 1.75. I notice though you have a SB. I guess that makes a difference.

From my research on this topic, it appears that setting the Bilstein 5100's to 1.75 and doing nothing to the rear will give the appearance of bro lean, no matter if the actual measured lift is equal front and rear.

    You did it right.

    Two questions -

Would the same setup work for a 4wd?

About how much for the springs, 5100s, and install?

Yes that might be possible, although when i lifted my current truck, i put coilovers in the front and aal in the back. On my old 2005 longbed, i just lifted the front with 5100s set at 1.75 and it looked good for me with not any bro lean

Yes it would work on a 4x4.
As for how much, You would have to call on pricing of parts and your local shops for installation. I got my parts from wheelers and I also had them preassemble the coils on the 5100s. They did an awesome job and they got everything to me in a week .

I've been thinking about this very subject a lot lately...

I've come to this conclusion; for me, new "lift-coils" (in front) are the best (least expensive) possible method of lifting a Tacoma less than 3"...

Old Man Emu (OME) 883 or 884 coils (~1.5" lift, ~580-590lb rating), or if you're adding a heavy plate-bumper later then get Eibach lift-coils (same lift, heavier 620lb rating).

884 coils gives more lift than 883 coils.

cost for me to install front 5100 belsteins and alignment was $423.00 at a Toyota dealer. They were $2.00 more then local garage. I bought the 4 shocks for $309.00 Downsouth Motorsports. I did the rear myself

Yeah I did the rears myself. That is not a bad price and for only $ 2.00 more I would of gone with the dealer too. cant remember what I paid for install but it was pretty close give or take . sounds like you done good.
