i posted about 4 months ago about my idea of going to north dakota to drive truck and make allot of money then get into skydiving...

well today, i accomplished everything i need to finally make it out there. :yay:

    got my CDL
    tanker endorsement
    doubles/triples endorsement
    hazmat TSA background approval
    hazmat endorsement
    and a job opportunity :)

it took me a while longer than i wanted. i couldnt stop smoking weed haha but i did and passed the drug test.

my schedule for school and work was
    -school mon-fri 7am-6pm
    -work thur-sun 7Am-630PM:eek:
yea it was a bitch. get off 12hr graveyard then straight to school for what should have been 3 weeks

then what should have been only 3 weeks in CDL school turned into 5 because of financial problems with the 5,000 loan. i started school then had to stop cause the school wouldnt finance me, because i wasnt going to work for one of the companies that sponsors the school. so i had to wait to get my own personal loan. took about 3 days then back to school for 4 days

after i got approved and signed for the loan, they somehow misplaced the signatures or some shit, bottom line, the school made me wait till it was final to come back. 2 days

then... i was late on a payment for another personal non related loan, sooo the bank wouldnt cut my school the check, yet again.... had to wait.

    but i finally finished today.
    %96.50 for my final grade.
    backing test 100%
    PTI 85%
    Road test 90%

well after all this shit, now i gotta move out haha. but all this started from the dream of skydiving. it will cost about 15,000 to get where i want to be in skydiving. which is what started boiling the thoughts of going threw this shit to make BANK :drunk:

its been harder than i imagined to get this far and still have ALLLOOOTTTT further to go. but my dream drills my brain everyday.

    No sarcasm here Norman...really.

Congratulations on being able to stop smoking weed long enough to get your CDL.

Keep us posted on your job search (or do you already have a start date). I'm betting your future employer may have pre-employment and random drug screening. FYI, some employers do pre & continuous on-line social network monitoring.

I know the N.D. area is good right now for jobs but, I didn't know they would hire without practical CDL experience.

Being a former aircraft owner and aviation enthusiast, I'm interested in hearing more about your sky diving plans

    Best of luck,

im clean as a whistle now. as soon as i actually quit smoking weed it was actually pretty easy to continue. allot easier than i thought.

and the places im applying for will employ persons with proper school training and certifications.

also i have 2 facebooks. one is completely private with an unknown email and not my full real name and is used for my random bullshit, i dont post anything about drugs or anything but my 2nd facebook has my real email and my real name and is kept clean and honorable

but yes i do plan to keep peeps updated. even tho out of the 81 views on this thread your the only one to reply ill still post about what is going on

Sounds good man. Do let us know how it goes, I'm sure we have some that have given a move to ND a thought.

    Best of luck,

Ya, pot isn't addictive so no worries. U can smoke again after the test. Lol.

We're looking for a driver but you'd have to move to canada.

Not sure if you're joking or....

Many DOT regulated postions in the US require a certain percentage of the work groups to be random tested in a given time period. I'm not sure smoking after any test is a good plan.

they actually did a random test on a few people while we were still in school, they didnt test me but i know at least 5 were tested. one failed.

i realize what the consequences are.

but i think about skydiving every damn DAY! ive researched and calculated how much money and time i need to accomplish where i want to be in the sport and will be devastated if i stop myself from getting there. seriously, skydiving has consumed my mind!

but thanks for the support, ive still got ALLLOOOONNNNGGGG way to go. but once i get there, ill have the money (and PLENTY of it) and the time to go threw with my dream

I've got a few friends who run sky diving operations. They've got some great stories and some really morbid stories. For a while they held the record for fastes climb with the most jumpers or some shit.

And yea, I've seen several 100k a year dudes walked over pot.

That dream will make the unbearable days bearable for you. Keep it front and center and don't lose sight of your goal. Consider printing out a small image that reminds you of that dream, and tape it to the dash of your rig. When you're feeling discouraged, have a look. "A man with a plan" is a good thing to be, and something millions of others will never see. Stay off the weed and take up meditation instead - same brain wave state, better overall effect. Keep looking forward & save those pennies. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve. Best of luck to you.

lol part of my fascination with skydiving has actually been the morbid stories of the sport, i researched and found all the accident reports on all 19 skydiving deaths in 2012. theres some scary shit associated with the sport. but its still safer than driving, and id rather die flying then driving.

yea i could figure allot of people loosing it for pot. i smoked weed since i was 12 years old. couldnt even stop for probation and drug court i just cheated the system. i smoked like a chimney. and i sold weed so i didnt have to pay for it which meant i smoked even more than i should have. but i quit it all and am ready to grow the fuck up and not be the person who at 30 still wants to go out and party every weekend. which i know a few people that still do. and looking back on it. i feel bad for those fucks that live paycheck to paycheck only trying to make money to party, i was once one of them but woke up and smelled the flowers of failure and the sweet scent of a dream

Yea yea, my buddies had one death just a few months ago and it had been a few years since that one. It is a morbid thing to hear but, like you I find it interesting.

Sounds like you're on the right path man...keep that directions!
