You riding a donkey? Cool! :D

Sucks on the gas tank. I'm like you though, $100 deductible on comprehensive is cheap.

For those thinking of wheeling in the forests, don't forget about the unpaved forest road bans from Jan 1 - March 31. Not sure if that is just El Dorado forest or not (I think so).

Here's the snipet from the forest service website... http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/eldorado/home/?cid=stelprdb5357470

    Seasonal Closure
All dirt roads and trails are closed to motor vehicle use between January 1 and March 31. If roads or trails are wet and susceptible to damage then the Seasonal closure will go into effect early or run longer until they dry. This closure is intended to protect water quality and prevent rutting and damage to these roads and trails. Approximately 600 miles of paved and gravel roads are not affected by the closure. The Rock Creek area near Georgetown has its own seasonal closure policy and procedures.

The ruins are that of gold-rush-era mining town. Only the stone foundations have survived. Its about a 30-minute walk from the Browns Ravine parking lot, from what I heard. You cannot drive onto the lake bed from that access.

Today, the wife and I may explore the lake bed on the other side, using the Granite Bay access. You can get legally drive onto the lake bed over there. I think there are lesser ruins, like of isolated miner's cabins .

EDIT: Looks like she wants to walk out to the town ruins this morning.

Billys all around. Lift springs up front. and an AAL in the rear. 3 inches is good enough for me

Anyone have a black DC with ARB bumper at the 7-11 on Kennedy in Alameda tonight around 7:30? Made me do a double take...and triple take. Looked like maybe rockstar wheels without the center.
