Good excuse to pick up one that runs 220!

 

I was thinking of an adapter. When I had my camper they sold adapters for 50 amp, 30 amp to 110. I will have to investigate that option

 

Well fine, if you want to go that route.
I've got the plug end on my "Ye Olde Stick Welder" set up so that I can unplug the dryer in the cellar and run the cord out the window to the driveway from there, haha.
I will eventually have a dedicated line for it on the outside of the house, but for now the adaptor was much cheaper than running a dedicated line the 30 feet from the fuse panel to the back side of the house.

 

Morning all. Did a bunch of maintenance on the truck yesterday. Oil change, air filter, re-hooking up e-brake, completely remove sway bar, and inner/ outer tie rod ends. Getting an alignment later today, currently my truck looks like it rides the short bus with tires at like this /|.

Also discovered my passenger inner CV boot is spewing grease. It's not cracked/ ripped, just pulled off of the outer clamping location. Lame, going to wait till it's warm out to re-boot.

 

What I would give to have my manual locking hubs back...

 

Ya, it would really be nice. Especially with the steep CV angles from the 5100's/ eibachs I have. Once I get my skids, bumper and sliders on it should help out. It's just a matter of finding the time to get everything prepped, painted, and installed.

 

Would be cool for sure. I want them so I can have 2lo.

 

I also miss having 2Lo. I used to have it on my old Nissan's with manual hubs. I used to use 2Lo around the yard, when I needed the lower range but didn't want to tear things up with 4x4.

 

Haha I hope I don't need to resort to filling my lawn with TNT.

 

Getting an alignment currently. Driving was fun, it must have looked like I was drunk. Truck was wondering all over the road. Good times. Hopefully they can get it somewhat decent.

Sure do. They still have a ton of life left. Though, I wore down the outer edge of one since i've been driving with a messed up alignment from my accident right before Thanksgiving. Just got around this weekend to replacing inner/ outer tre's since they were fused together.

 

Manual hubs are kick ass on everything but 1st gen tacomas. They are weaker than the ADD hubs. When I break something in the front end its the CV axle itself ($40 for a remain with a lifetime warranty) And you can keep the halfshaft and drive home! With the manual hubs 90% of the time you blow up a hub (cant drive home). And those are expensive and tough to find.

Interesting. The upside is you're not wearing out the cv boots when lifted from them rubbing on each other. But I guess i'd rather re-boot than replace a hub...

 

Drove mine to hell and back, never had any hub issues. Did pull them apart once for a thorough inspection and cleaning.

 

Better yet just buy the whole disc, good stuff..
