In reality, you are military, you can keep the registration etc. As HI. Most of the locals stationed here never change over to VA registration. Saves on Property Tax too.

 

My friend is a inspector so I could take it to him an get it passed if someone else gives you trouble

What kind did you go with? Darkness? In VA you can get a "Sunshading" stamp. Allows you to go down to 35% +-7% legally.

Your eye Dr. signs a form. Complain about you working at night now and your eyes are sensitive to the daylight now. Wear sunglasses, and blink and squint around bright lights. They will sign off as you having "Photophobia"(light sensitivity) - tell them that your Dr. told you about it when you started complaining about headaches you were getting.

I think this is where I need to post... I'm thinking of buying a 4runner from a dealer in Fredericksburg, but I would like someone to check it out to check for rust and such. Is there anyone in that area that would be willing? It's at Woodyard auto sales. I really want it looked at for any damage not shown in the pictures, frame rust, suspension rust, funny tire wear, things like that. If someone would be willing to test drive it, that would be even better. It's a stick shift...

I wonder if superwhite is anywhere near there. I was thinking he was in the stafford area? I also know of a couple guys that I work with that live down in that area I can ask around and see if any of them would be willing to go check it out for you.

 

Whatever works for you guys. I don't want to inconvenience anyone. If it doesn't work out, I understand. I emailed them to try and get more pictures, but I would like more of an honest opinion than just the dealer sugar coated view.

Yeah, check and see if the dealer will allow you to take it to a mechanic to look it over. Most reputable dealers will allow you to do that

 

I'm in Iowa so I can't do anything without flying out there...

 

I hunt down in Fburg and can maybe drive by and snap a few pictures and drive it. I won't be down there this weekend, but maybe next. Try getting the dealer to take a video/ audio clip of what you want. Looks very clean though.
