Yeah, just one strip of 3M since it was a temp install
If it was a perma; some short all rod studs would be drilled in a bit and epoxied. kinda like the same way I did the satoshi.

Anybody else that redid theyre speedometer cluster can you pm im having a problem with the speed gauge if you guys have any clue on how to fix it possibly I dont wanna turn this thread into a diy

Well I did the led swap/faceplate but my problem is the actualy mph needle it wont give me my speed or even move but when it does move It'll move up a little at a time stop in spots and shake back and forth as if the motor I guess youd call it is slipping or getting stuck that moves the needle and I can't figure out how to correct it

 

It's was the east side of brick town, that's the barnegat bay behind me. Looked like a section of land washed away from Sandy and they replaced it with rock.

 

Hmmmm, time fo some troubleshooting

How far did you push the needle down? could it be hitting the cluster?

Disconnect the battery
Take the dash back apart remove and reseat the connections
Connect battery and try it

Hopefully that fixes it... otherwise we might be leaning towards a short in the board/motor

 

Well when I took it apart I turn the speed gauge and it goes past 120... but when I move it back to 0 it stops... would that be normal?

 

Yes, it has a set range.
You sure you put the needle back on the same place it was removed?

 

I fucked up my gas gauge when I did my swap, eventually I got an "at rest" photo of a normal gauge and pulled mine and set it the same

 

Pm one I the guys who does the swaps. They might know what happened. I asked Jerez a bunch of questions when I did mine

 

Well I took the needle and put it back on and moved it up to 20 and back down to 0 but it went past 0 so I took the needle off again and lightly placed it back on just snug enough to know I was moving it then got it to 0 again took it off and made sure it was stopping on 0 and it was good but when I put it in my truck thats when I saw the problem

Otherwise I think you put the motor/needle back on in the wrong position.

 

Ill give it a try tomorrow when I get home from work I was guna try nd see if I could take apart the cluster nd check the feeling of the mph needle to the rmp needle should be almost the same...
