Well, like the title says...just finished installing my lift....

....now for some 33" tires...the question is, stay with the 16" wheels or move up to 17"....:)

Thanks! I'm really happy with how it turned out and it rides very, very nicely.

It is the Toytec ultimate lift kit with Bilstein coilovers, OME Dakar rear leafs, Bilstein remote res. rear shocks, SPC upper control arms, and all the fixins like sway bar relocate, diff. drop, axle shims, etc.

Looks great. So you went with the full Dakar leafs opposed to the AAL? What did the whole setup run you? If you don't mind me asking.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I went with the full Dakar leaf packs as opposed to the AAL. I figured if I was going through all of the work, I might as well just replace the leaf packs. My kit was $2,100 shipped, but I added the diff drop, the remote reservoir rear shocks, the UCAs, and the leafs. I bought it through ToyTec's "Black Friday" sale which was 10% off, otherwise it would have been closer to $2,400.Did all the work myself which saved me another $1,200 in install labor (yeah...$1,200 was the average quote I received from several shops around here...)

I think I'm going to go the exact same route. What did you set your fronts at?

I'd say keep the 16's. I always liked more tire than wheel so I stayed with 16's. But I replaced my Off-Road wheels with procomp since they are 4.5" backspacing and I plan on running some MaxxTrac spindles soon.

The fronts were set for 3". I will need to let the suspension "settle in" over the next month or so and then readjust them I'm sure. The back is a little higher, but from what I understand the rear leafs take a little time to "settle" as well.

I am leaning towards staying with the wheels I have, because let's face it...the less I spend on wheels and tires....the more I have to spend on other things for it! (like new front bumper for example)

Do you have a build thread for your truck?

Any issues with rubbing once you put the 33s in? Did you end up having to do any trimming or the CMC mod?

Did you have to do wheel spacers to keep running the stock wheels. I just put a 3in ome with dakars on my rig and rub the uca's slightly while turning with 265/75/16's. Im sure it would be more prevalent with the larger tire. So now Im on the hunt for new wheels...

My truck had about a 1.5" spacer/block lift in it that the previous owner installed. I've had 265/75/16 tires on it since the day I bought it...no rubbing whatsoever, no trimming done, and no spacers needed. Interesting to hear that you're rubbing with a 3" lift. What wheels do you have?

16's look awful. You need 22's...the cool kids run 22's.

    /sarcasm.

That's basically perfection right there, simple, but purposeful.

I have the stock trd off road wheels. Cooper ST maxx 265/75/16's and well ya a little rub at about 3/4 to full lock while turning. A chalk test revealed that it was happening on both sides on the uca. It is very slight but scares me that I may cause some damage if I wheel it hard this way. No way I could clear aftermarket UCA's without going to a wheel with different backspacing or add some spidertrax. Wish I didn't have to though for the same reasons as you I would like to keep the stockers.
