I normally have a professional painter do them, but I do offer a Duplicolor rattle can job that shaves about $75 off the price. I have done 2 of them that way and think they have turned out pretty good.

That would be me. I'll shoot you a private message tonight about pricing and my phone number. SSM is a 2 layer paint, so no extra costs on paint. The biggest infuence at this time would be which mesh and the depth of the grill you wanted. I buy my mesh from customcargrills.com. Take a look at their universal meshes and start thinking about which style you might want.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
anybody do any wheeling recently? I've been once since we all went last. quite a bit of carnage had by all. I caught a good bit of air coming up an obstacle and rolled my rim in pretty good when I landed. Someone came up right behind me and shredded the sidewall on one of his brand new kevlars. And ironically, no one brought their hi-lift with. That was fun.

Have you done any of the 1st gen grilles? I just got a replacement one and haven't decided if I am going to leave it plain, or do something with it.

    Um, no.

Sorry, Dave has had his truck here for a while now, and all being told, has spent close to $6k on it here.

For your year, I think it is a fairly easy process. I think I checked yours out when we went down the lane and it should be a lot easier than the 2nd gen grills. Snap a couple of pictures of it if you can and I'll let you know for sure. Get one of the front as a whole, the back as a whole and then a close up of the bottom edge and top edge from the back.

Also, since you painted your truck, I could just put a primer coat on it and let you paint it. If not, I'm not sure what my painter would charge for a first gen and he would need the paint code.

Justin and I tried Stoney on Saturday with the rain. Super sloppy! Did one trail and headed back out. Coming down the big hill on the main road, I was able to keep my truck pointed downhill in the right direction, but went from the center over to the right edge and then from the right edge to the left edge while the steering wheel did absolutely no good.

    To whom it may concern,

If you are think or were thinking at any point to do business with Wheelers Offroad, I ask that you strongly reconsider. I just got through with quite the ordeal with them and to say that I am displeased would be a gross understatement. I have had a few successful orders from them in the past so this is quite shocking and eyeopening to me personally.
Long story short, I messaged back and forth with Dan yesterday about getting an order together. After several pms we were able to figure out exactly what I wanted for the price I was willing to pay. It was all just recovery gear, their straps and such. Then I call him to give credit card info and run through the order once again, everything seems ok, so we go ahead with the order over the phone and I thank him and we end the call. This morning I check my bank account and find out that the charge to Wheelers is almost $20 more than what we had agreed to in pms and over the phone. So I pm Dan and wait... When they open and Dan logs on he responds, explaining that there was some sort of communication error and he was never saying that he was figuring in shipping charges, even though I typed shipped after every price I asked about. I explain to him that I am not sure why the confusion and that it doesnt give me a good feeling, because it seems a fast one was tried. He replies back that he wasnt trying to pull a fast one and that he can refund part of the shipping and let the package continue or he can just cancel the order. I let him know that I would like to continue with the order because I do not want the money tied up and prevent me from actually getting the gear I want and that it would be easiest to just put this behind us and learn from it. Afterall, the end result would only vary by a bit more than $10. So i go ahead with my day not hearing a response from Dan and expecting my package to continue to be on time.

2 hours later, I get an email from UPS informing me that Wheelers placed a return order on the package and that the shipment was now stopped. I try to contact Dan, no response. I call and talk to a manager and his explanation is that he didnt want some customer out there bad mouthing them on the forums so he told Dan to refund the money and cancel the shipment. I inform him of the deal that Dan had proposed and he acknowledges that he sees the communication between the two of us in pms, and then later in the conversation completely backs out of any prior knowlege of what Dan was doing and says that Dan was told shortly after opening to just cancel my order and give me a refund and that Dan must have acted out on his own to offer me the split shipping cost deal. So I point out to him that the deal was proposed around 11 am their time. At this point he begins to just circle the conversation.

I realize that the refund was issued, and I am not mad about the monetary part of things. Hell truth be told I would have had no problem paying for shipping yesterday if he would have told me i had to. What I am upset by is that THEY offered 2 different options to me and later withdrew both after an agreement was reached, 1 the option of the order and price for it, and 2 the split shipping charges. At no point was I informed that THEY were going to go in and manipulate the agreed upon part and change it, nor that they had even done it. I had to find both out myself. THAT is the part that pisses me off.

So in summary, dont believe what they tell you, dont think that they will honor their word, and DONT think that management will make any attempt at correcting things to try to satisfy you, even if you are willing to share the burden with them.

This will be the absolute last time the get the opportunity at my business. I hope others can use this to learn and avoid future happenings that cause them displeasure.
