Looks like you'll have to make the drive up here for a mod day. I can do u-joints pretty damn fast. I was done in 2 hours with help from my grandson (sarcastically said)! My Carrier Bearing was still in perfect condition.

Hello, I was informed that I should introduce myself in here as I will most likely be moving to Virginia soon. Although it is the Richmond area that I am looking at, I am used to having to drive a little ways to get together with some fellow TW'ers. Hopefully if/when I move I can meet up with you guys and get to know ya and maybe go riding sometime. I have a very modest build but it's gettin there and I'm still trying to learn more about wheeling.

Thanks, need to get an updated pic for my sig but havent had a chance to take a decent one yet. Im not sure about when I might move. Still in negotiations with the company and all. At one point I think we were talking about February, but that is quickly approaching and for some reason it doesnt seem like I am anymore prepared than what I was when I first interviewed over a month ago!

she's a stocker for now. i used to have a built 3rd gen 4rnr, so this isn't really anything new, just different.

Right now i am just reading all about springs, COs and UCAs...trying to figure out what is the best way to go the first time out.

anyways, wanted to say hi. I gotta all sorts of tools and a wall mount spring compressor if anyone needs a hand with anything. plus i am a welder and fabricator, so....you need some help let me know.

    Thanks guys.
made i should PM someone, but i need some help with my front end lift. I WILL get UCAs. I want my alignment as perfect as i can get it. as you all know this is an east coast truck. high speed wheelin doesn't exist here, really. Assume money is no problem. I want to do this right the first time. Eventually i'll get some front armor, but for now it is lift, wheels and skids. Do I really need 2.5" COs with remote resi??? UCAs with OME springs and billies in the rear???

I know there is a ton of info to read and i have been reading. It seems that peoples statements are based on personal opinions. Never messed with uniballs. I didnt' have a problem on my old 4R with factory BJs...

i know this is a newbish question. direct me or guide me...

    thanks

hmmm, welder/fabricator AND a wall mount spring compressor, think I just found my new best friend... I change front susp setups more often than some people change underwear! Not only that but I have been working on a bed rack design for quite some time and just havent started because I dont feel like stick welding another one, plus the move/job possibility kind of takes up that free time.

Just doin what I can to esteablish a reputation before I make an appearance!

Lot of guys run OME lifts and like them, myself included. If money is no issue I would probably recommend either King or Icon and then some good UCA's. Could do just fine with light racing but if you wanted ultimate flex ability out of the coilovers then go uniball style. as for the rear, it depends on what you want personally out of it. flex and droop numbers, weight capacity, ride quality, all that have to be taken into consideration.

You really do not need remote resi unless you plan on doing fast stuff. As for the UCA, of with a nice tubular one with a uniball or the super expensive Icon billet one. The uniball UCA allows you to go with an extended travel CO and get a little bit more travel out of the front.
