So the beam spread is aimed lower than my headlights, but these things are BRIGHT. I'm not sure if they blind people or not... I'll do more testing to see.

    Lump,

Did you make your own crossmember for the inchworm transfer case or did you buy one? Would there be anyway the crossmember would get in the way of my bud built skids?

Actually, I just welded to the stock crossmembe, making a mounting plate for my setup. I'll try to find some pictures for you...

TTORA guys make fun of this setup, but it's worked out awesome!

So, I completed the finish work on my HID setup.

I figured out how to seal up the pass through on the back of the housings.

First, I got a couple of grommets from Ace Hardware:
    P1050832_zpsb5f145ed_08b97c12c633c278a0a3df8ab13f3c13dbacfbfe.jpg

Then, I fit them into the hole and cut them down to size
    P1050834_zps52728bb1_07a65818aaaab3520000565bf96d28c784dd26f0.jpg
    P1050829_zpsd9dfa45a_98efa926d5a67f18a16b9d5dd017e5cdd9b9bf75.jpg

Then, I used "The Right Stuff" to fill in the gap and waterproof the pass through. I think this should work out pretty well!
    P1050831_zps501d0cf7_9e865d977066f5fd05a26864061e32a983bdbdaf.jpg

Also, here are a couple of pics of the yellow filters on the HIDs.
When they warm up, the light is green:

But, after a little while, it is a pure yellow. I like it and can't wait to see how they perform when snow is falling!

The blue 4runner in this pic has the rims I've been looking for. They're similar to the eagle alloy 100 series, but have silver in the holes. Is there any chance you could get me in contact with the owner of the runner or find out what those rims are called? It would be of great interest to me! Thanks.

So, I don't have any contact info for that guy, but I do know that he owns a Toyota shop called RTI out here in CO. I'll ask some of the other guys if they know him and see what I can dig up.

It's starting to snow now! I pulled the truck out with one yellow filter and one clear filter on there. It really makes a difference. If I can get my camera setting right, I'll try to snap a couple pics for ya!

Thanks so much! I did find out that they're EA 101's but they only seem to show up as chrome versions of the 100's on any site that I've found them on, so either the black and silver ones have been discontinued or they're rare.

I grabbed a couple pics when it was snowing last night, to show how well the yellow filters work. So, the pictures don't really show the true difference, but you can kind of get the idea.

First off, no yellow filter: (my camera did some sort of digital glare reduction on here... there was more show than shows up)

Same shot with yellow filter (this is pretty accurate)

Truth. The mod bug is a slippery slippery slope.

Glad the lights worked out man. Even the low beams look too bright to drive with oncoming traffic tho IMO. Are they?

So, I've got them pointed WAY low right now. The hi beam on my HIDs hits my low beams on the headlights. I followed my buddy for a while and he said that the HIDS are just a little brighter than my headlights (which are really dim) So, for now, I'm safe. I'm going to run it this way for a while, then gradually aim the HIDs higher until the low beam is just below my headlights and the hi beam is just above. (unless they start to flash people of course) Even where they are, they are awesome on the street! I can't even tell if my headlights are on or off!

    Dude, your truck is YOUNG!

    Thanks man, I appreciate it!

If we ever meet in person, we'll have to do a compare between your real HID offroad lights and my home made ones.
