This drive way is sloped towards the street. It's not level by any stretch of the imagination.

But then again why would anyone attempt a build on a badly sloped driveway. That's why I don't live in the hills. I hate badly sloped driveways for various reasons.

I don't understand why you guys are have a hard time with thing being built in a driveway. I think some of the baddest rig come out of backyards and this one is going to be one them.

Maybe because I hate doing shit in my driveway. :( Half uneven asphalt, half mud in the spring, rocks everywhere, covered in snow or ice 4-5 months out of the year, no rain cover.

I suppose if I lived in a warmer, more arid climate it wouldn't be bad. NY weather sucks. I've had to wait weeks for a weekend it didn't rain to be able to do something on one of the vehicles in the driveway. That's why we bought a house with a barn, but one door is broken and the other bay has so much shit in it I can't drive a vehicle in. :(

The weather here is pretty good all year round ,so doing work in the driveway is not really an issue ,but I'm sure in your situation I probably feel the same.

I have a nice driveway, and a heated garage suitable for working on my rig. But I usually refuse, I've become spoiled using hoists. Doing all this work on your back loses it's appeal after a while.all that up and down does an number on your back, arms, legs. Maybe I'm just a big complainer!

Yeah maybe we should build it at your place.can you build your rig like this or is it against some regulations. I heard another guy say he couldn't go to wide on his axles.

I might attract some police attention with the tires sticking out so far from the body. But other than that, there would be no big issues. My tires stick out a good 3 inches on either side now, and on my sasd 86, they stuck out roughly 5 inches. And I haven't caught much trouble yet. Depends on where ya go I guess

Like what kind of trouble can you really get into. I mean here to I could have some problems but there so many lifted fords and Chevys ,jeeps with wheels sticking out .i don't think the police pay that much attention to it .ill probably have to put on some mud flaps so I don't throw up something into someone windshield.

That's probably the only insurance you'll need is some cheap removable mud flaps to keep the police off your ass. I think the reason I haven't gotten shit for my tacoma, is that I don't drive like a dick. I'm not flying by people on highways, cutting people off, I signal and stop at stop signs and red lights! The trouble you get into here is a ticket. If you're a real dickwad to the officer, they could probably impound your vehicle. But that is very unlikely. Probably just the $57 ticket.

Where I live if you keep your truck clean and pull the rocks out of your tires the police dont care if they stick out past the fenders.

I love working in my drive way. Like I said and Ray said, the people here are just amazed at what we are doing. It has actually brought in drive by business, and has given others ideas on what they can do to their trucks and cars. then, here is SoCal, the weather is so temperate that I would rather be out doors than in a shop. Don't get me wrong, there are times when we wish we had a shop, but it hasn't slowed us down.

Lifts? Don't like standing on my feet all that much. Down low is good for me and working on these taller trucks you can actually sit under them.

Next is going to be my 56 Ford F100. Neighbors will love that one too. :D

I can feel you on sitting! I hate working over my head, and doing anything in my driveway under the truck means I'm on my back reaching over my head, mud and rust falling on my face. Driveway isn't flat enough for a creeper, and the barn has a wood floor so one wouldn't roll in there either. One of these days I'd love to get a concrete floor in the barn and redo the driveway (including removing the grass/mud/rock section where I park the truck). It's better than the gravel parking lot of our apartment before we bought the house, but only for basic maintenance.

Today we got the rear link mount brackets on the frame. We also boxed the frame in some key areas. Next week we'll have the axle, joints, links, and the rest of the brackets and plan on getting it on all fours. Should be a fun weekend.

Lower link mount on the drivers side.

This setup is going to be identical to mine and should work just as well. the only exception is going to be the way the rear coil overs are mounted. It will be similar to Dave's setup with shock hoops in the rear instead of the large arrangement I have going on.

Anyway, stay tuned for next weekends fun.
