    That is correct same frequency different mode. The biggest problem is finding some one else that also has SSB most CB radios do not. I still have a Tram Diamond SSB radio I bought in the early 70's have not used it in 30 years.

    It's got some Mods
    Here's a question for anyone who knows whats up: I just mounted my firestik on a home made mount that is very similar to the relentless hood mount, apparently I made a bend just a little too far so now the firestik is angled to the back of my truck about 10 or so degrees. Does the antenna need to be perfectly vertical or am I good to go? I plan on tuning it tomorrow and i'd like to have the antenna set up right for this.

    Hey guys I am really confused when it comes to this CB stuff. I have my coax cable (with connectors at both ends) Firestik antenna and a spring mount. The radio (Uniden 520xl) is on the way. I am extremely confused on how the heck you attach the cable to the antenna.... School me please.

    Okay. So when I have the stud, the coax plugs Into the bottom, and the antenna screws in the top. Can I screw it into the spring mount and then the spring mount into the stud mount?

    If you decide to use a spring tune the antenna after you put the spring on.
