    Technically speaking, yes you do need a specific lens to do macro photography because the lens needs to have a 1:1 reproduction ratio (size of subject on sensor to size of actual subject), this making your image/print greater than life size.

    No problem man! Yeah I don't have a macro lens though :/ only a 50f/1.8 hahaha I need to save some money.

    Yup, one of the best out. I liked my Nikon better than canon though, the build quality of the lens was way better on the Nikon and my canon tends to back focus even with the wonderful thing that is canons focus beep.
