Fire extinguisher install - pics/ideas??

    Yep...two t-bolts and this and you're done. Even has the holes already drilled:

    The mounts are stout. I have them mounted on my bed cage. The rail will rip off before the mount will:

    Bumping the thread again! With extinguishers mounted outside the vehicle, is there any concern of debris, corrosion, or UV rays that could compromise the extinguisher?? Are there covers for them, or is that a bad idea with regards to quick access?

    As long as the extinguisher is in a reasonably secure location (ie not in the wheel well or somewhere it will take a lot of damage from gravel or sitting water, common sense) it will be good until the date it expires. Won't hurt to check it for signs of surface rust I suppose as I have never left one out in the open for extended periods of time.

    We spent quite a bit of time on different types of fire extinguishers in one of my fire science classes, they are built to last. I have a cool looking antique one from a great grandfather, it's just art now but still holds pressure.

    As you said, a cover would only make it more of a hassle to get to in an emergency situation. My two cents, hope it helps!
