What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Unfortunately they don't make rad red touch up, so that was custom mixed at Napa. Hopefully it holds up, It has been and will be drying/hardening in the house for days.

 

Derped my badges today. Put on 4 coats. If you're considering doing this I would go with about 6 coats. The derp was a little light between letters and inside letters which made it a much bigger PITA to scrape out. Because of that I have 3 spots to go back and touch up.

 

Ya.. In California, it used to be free if the glass didn't have to be changed (the epoxy repairs), but about 5 years ago that went away.

Try some WD-40. Took all the adhesive off when I debadged.

 

I've backed up at Zero MPH and bent the tin foil bumper. What a piece of shite

 

Dipping badges is easy just make sure you get enough coats and let it dry before you peel. Overspray comes off easy with wd40. But I blocked off about 10" around each emblem and about 1/2" between emblem and tape.

 

Oh yeah! The OEM rear bumper is pretty flimsy! I obliterated mine rock crawling...

 

the crazy thing is that i did. i tried it first, but it didn't take the adhesive off. the 3M did as it should. it was 45* outside. maybe if i reheat it with the hair dryer, then try...Maybe some clay...just gotta play with it. whatever i do i will be asy as i don't want to mess with the paint.

i want to get this 100% before i pull of the badges on the doors, the pinstripe and the TRD badge. that is tomorrows project as long as the rain doesn't show up

 

I used windex a rag and a little elbow grease it came right off just keep the the windex sprayed on frequently

 

I went to Radio Shack last year for an FM antenna (for the old truck). The kid at the counter told me, "Sir, this is Radio Shack; we don't carry antennas"...

Hmmmm. I've had luck with lighter fluid too. I just wouldn't leave it sit on the paint too long.

 

UPS just dropped off my new double-din Pioneer head unit. Unfortunately my dash kit, harness, and remote adapter for the steering wheel buttons won't be here until Saturday. I'll install the sensor for the factory overhead temp/compass I retrofitted into the garage door opener spot this weekend too.

I brined them for about 36 hours (sea salt sugar and water.) Then rinsed and soaked in 1 part dales 1 part jalapeno sauce 3 parts root beer for another 36 hours give or take. then put a rub on em garlic/ onion powder crushed red pepper black pepper little sugar and a teaspoon of ground coffee. both squirrels and ham. gonna make a little BBQ sauce and haste them about 30 mins before I take them off.
