I have never been so proud of this little one until yesterday. I went wheeling in a dry lake bed with a crew of 6-luggers and still managed to keep up at all times.

^ Impressive esp considering the '06 didn't have the brake-based Auto LSD.

Just went from a 2003 dodge ram 1500 to a 2005 tacoma regular cab 2wd. I am 17 and bought the vehicle myself for $5400. I was looking for suggestions with anything that you guys may like on these 5 luggers. Thanks for any input. :D

    Welcome to the 5-lug crew.
When it comes to 5-lug mods it's pretty limited

You can either lower (which some do)
or lift it (which others do)
Or you can do both (COUGH* RYAN COUGH*) :D

I don't know shit about lowering so I can't help out there.
But you're lift options are pretty limited. You can either get a 2.75" spacer lift w/ AAL from Fatbob's ($230) or ReadyLift ($330) there's no difference except fat bobs comes with rear shocks. Or you can do Icon's Mid-travel kit which I think runs for $1,300 and I think gives 3" max? (KC am I right?) or you can go all out and long travel it for who knows how much in total.

Yeah I forgot that they sold UCA's individually. I might invest in that if the 5-lug is still with me in the future.

I have actually bought a 2.5" lift for the front already just waiting for some more money. I have pro comp 7031 rims on the list along with bigger tires. Trouble is I don't know how big I should go. I don't any rubbing and if I don't have to, I don't want to put the lift on. I am willing to do the black box mod however.

Hey whats up! Welcome to the 5 lug crew - soon youll want a 6 lug.. haha no joke :pout:

I did the fat bob lift (I still have it FYI and Ill sell it to with super cheap) I went full MT Icons front and rear with TC UCAs... You can only get about 2.5" of lift and the other lift comes w/bigger tires (which you would want a regear)... You can get more lift with FULL LT (long travel) but that's some serious dough .. about $3k just for starters...

    PHIL!!!

Buy my shit... lol http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacoma-marketplace/307220-5-lug-parts-sale.html (fat bob kit is all in there)

Ky ky stop false advertising. You can get 4" of lift out of the front with the chaos and still be within spec for camber and caster. However this might put you at full droop. However, you could try to up size to an 8" shock..... As for the cost. 3k only covers the front upper, lowers, and straps. Does not include shocks front to rear, leafs or link, bucket gussets, cam gussets, or wheel spacers to finish the kit........

Truth, but this way the guy wont feel bad when he gets confused about what he wants because of this
