I have both as of now... I'm a long box traitor. I've upgraded to a schlort bed.

That's nice. I had 2 small nightstand dressers, the obvious bed frame and headboard/footboards as well as the tall dresser and the the long dresser.

All wood, not dovetail old quality but not cheap junk either lol.

Sold it for space saving on this move and to buy vintage furniture that was not made in korea.

 

I see your furniture and raise you one full extra large sectional complete with queen size hide a bed and 2 recliners. And a phone (yes it is that old)

 

Long bed or not, I would so put that on a trailer. Bye bye if a strap snaps or comes loose. lol

 

I definitely agree. But my trailer had a few tons of scrap on it and I had to get it moved.

Also someone mentioned wieght.. I don't want to disclose the amount but 40 bags of topsoil, 25 bags of cedar mulch, some pea gravel and a few other supplies for the yard.

It was the only way to make it in one trip, and keep the heavy lower sections from flipping out.

 

Shorty works just fine for 8' lumber, which is the most common thing I think I would haul

 

Long box for sure. More utility and regardless of whether or not the truck is larger the fact I can still park it into the majority of spaces unlike a full-size makes it just as good as a short box.

 

I don't think a short box would have been able to conceal my recent pick up from a local Fastenal: All pro bumper

 

That's the worst lumber stack I've ever seen in my career , and what the hell is going on behind the truck , is that a vent from inside the house using a downspout as a chimney pipe or a downspout that directs water into your house ?
