It's the 3 inch OME lift. And it's the anthracite Plasti-Dip on the wheels. The picture makes them look darker than they really are.

Yeah Thats where I was looking at tires too. Those guys treat me pretty well. For some reason I get way more flats out here in AZ then I did in NY. :notsure:

Is it better to go with a bigger wheel and a lower tire or visa versa? I don't like a gushy ride but dont want to be feeling like I am riding on rocks either. The shocks helped a lot.

What lift and tires do you have on there? I like they way it looks. I have two sets of FJ rims one 17's and the other are the 16's from the Off Road edition. Wasn't too sure which ones I'll be using when I lift it. Seems like everyone like the 16's when wheeling.

Its all in personal preference. Personally I like a 17 or 18" wheel on the Tacoma and they give plenty of sidewall on the tires for moderate wheeling. 5100's are a def improvement over the stock shocks. If you are getting a lot of flats might want to get a d or e rated tire. Ride will stiffen a lil but will have more plys on the tire. I run e's on mine and don't think they are stiff at all. I never had the flat problem when I was in AZ just went thru a lot of windshields there from all the small rocks on the road lol

Thank you for the info. I couldnt figure out how to tell the ply on the tire details. I like to go into the tire shops knowing a little bit! LOL
My BFGs only have 27000 miles on them but have big time dry rot. My last flat was on the sidewall, looked like it just cracked...

Is there much change in the MPG since you went to 18s?

Be anal and shop around for tires alot before buying. With research I've never paid over a grand for tires :D

My 1st set I got buy 3 get one free from Desert Rat, this new set I shopped 5 places (including Wally World) then lastly called Amerca's Tire and gave them the lowest price and they beat that by 10%. Paid $900 n change for 35's...started out around $1400 from 1st quotes.
