My heart bleeds for you. Wait, no it doesn't. It's frozen solid.

Edit; let's try this one; a little larger.

Meh; 20 miles, give or take. But we're further away from the ocean, which really is what does it.

Yes, it's cold with the wind!

I almost just buried a Saturn that spun out in front of me. Keep your distance.

Ya I'm taking it slow. I've only just made it to the Kennebunk rest area. Currently getting gas. Roads aren't bad, but visibility is dog shit. Especially when big rigs go by, it drops to like 2 ft

Is it bad I'm searching Craigslist for plot trucks?

I don't nearly have a driveway big enough for plowing, and with the island I have in there it would be nearly impossible to do, but I'm already over shoveling.

A nice old K5 Blazer/Bronco would work quite well. Of course, anything that is cheap enough to fit whatever tiny budget I have wouldn't pass MA inspection or be safe to drive. I figure for a $2,300 outlay, I'd have to plow 70 driveways at $30-35 to break even.

I'm thinking of doing the same next year. Make a few bucks on the side. I'd put a plow on my truck but it's been through enough already

Now keep in mind if you start plowing for cash, if the plow truck breaks down (which at $2,500, it definitely will), you now HAVE to fix it because others are relying on you.

Exactly. My thought would be more helping out friends and whatnot, not a service with a contract or anything. I have a full time job and wouldn't let it interfere or anything.

Anything that is an excuse to get something new and different though...always thought K5s were kinda nifty. My Mom's neighbor has a CUCV style Blazer with a plow and it just makes such quick work of her neighborhood.

My pipe dream list is long and gets longer by the year. I was researching 3rd Gen Supras today.

Haha, I know what you mean! My uncle used to plow with an old Wrangler. It couldn't push too much but it was very maneuverable.

Exactly. Ultimately I'll probably purchase a big snowblower, but having a beater truck could be deeply entertaining (and stupidly/needlessly expensive).

I should have put the skid back on after I replaced my steering rack last weekend. It sucks having to resist the urge to drive through snow banks

    Lol.
I used to have pipe dreams about running a "plow" business that used one of these.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05Mcj_Pq2Dk
Around here there's tons of camp roads that get plowed year round, and by the end of the season they're down to just wide enough for one car to fit at at time. Some of them are better than a mile long, too, with multiple houses. I figured I could pick one up and make a mint. Then I realized that between buying the truck, the blower for it, and the fuel to run it, I'd have to have that be my full time winter job just to break even, let alone turn a profit. But the videos are still fun to watch.

Used to run a snowblower attachment on a three point off the back of a Deere... Best part is the tractor will still make you money the rest of the year doing other work. That machine is better for someone in the Yukon.
