He's without speedo correction.... If I'm not mistaken his speedo might be a little off from factory

Indeed....70mph is actually 77 mph. 315s are about 11% difference from the factory tire size.

Nah, the final drive ratio won't change the speedometer. The speedometer is read from the wheel speed sensors at the wheels. Only the tire size will change the speedometer reading.

I heard that too...but I'm not sure it's true. It wouldn't make sense to change it. However it wouldn't make sense to change the transfercase for a manual transmission. But they did. As far as I know it's still read off the wheel speed sensors. Makes sense to do it that way.

Auto tacomas take the speed from the abs sensors in the rear, manual tacoma get speed from the t-case as far as I know. Read that many times here and on rocksolidtoys.

Hey a couple of people have said to watchout with snorkels in snowstorms. I was curious if you had any issues. Is there anything I should be aware of. We have been getting hit pretty hard the last few days.

I've had this thing in full on blizzards and never had an issue. Ask reeeno403 about some of the snowstorms were driven through haha..

Haha! You deal with a hell of a lot more snow than I do. If you don't have an issue I am not worried. I think it is more of an issue for the Safari snorkels because of the opening size and grill.

I have not seen or heard of an issue with either brand and like Jamie mentioned we have been in some hellish blizzards and never had an issue. We also have a bunch of buddies running snorkels and no issues there.

for the snorkels.. what are your takes on rain? You run the snorkel inlet backwards during the raining time? I always feel that the chance of water running through the intake is sketchy lol

Nah I'm too lazy to flip it. Supposedly it's not good to run the airflow hat backwards. There was severe flooding here in June, and it rained HARD for a few weeks straight. I was daily driving the truck every day and didn't have any issues. The hat on the safari snorkel and airflow snorkel are designed to exhaust the water before it gets into the body of the snorkel.

I keep an extra air filter onboard in case it gets too wet. Swap it out and off you go

Good idea. However I've never had mine get wet even in the worst conditions?
