Been torn between Demello and a Pelfreybilt plate bumper. Pelfreybilts customer service is winning me over. They have been very responsive to my questions so far but trying to get responses back from Demello has been an effort. Email them and it says the mailbox is full. Post under vendors takes a little while to get an answer as well.

Since I live in Canada I have never seen any in person. Here air my questions:

    1. Would you go single hoop or full. I like the look of he three but I wish I could see it in person.

    2. Like to put RI D2 hd in the fog light recess. It appears n pictures that the lights sit a fair ways back in the fog light channel. Would this not interfere with the spread of the light. Can the be positioned closer to the front.

    3. Can you keep the stock skid plate on....... Just until I order another one.

    4. Can you paint the bumper yourself. Would not mind saving a little moola due to the costs to ship here.

    5. Last question....... Could you go back to the stock bumper after. Only if you had too.

    Thanks

I originally wanted a Demello Off Road bumper as well, but I changed my mind to Pelfrey after seeing some of Tyler's work. His customer service and craftsmanship is unmatched. And the fact that he comes out and wheels with us whenever he has the free time to makes him all the cooler.

    1. I have the full hoops, and I love the way it looks. But several friends have the single, and it looks great too. I just always wanted a 3 hoop.

    2. The Rigid D2 Driving pattern LED lights work very well. The flood pattern is only 20*, the spot is 10*, so there really isn't a huge spread of light unless you get the diffused lenses, which I don't recommend for forward facing lights. They are great for backup lights, but not fog.

The mounting surface is recessed a few inches, and there is not a way to fit a D2 or Dually inside the foglight can. Mine work just fine.

    3. I still have my stock skid plate. Works fine.

    4. I powdercoated mine myself, no reason why you couldn't paint or rhino-line it yourself.

    5. It is 100% bolt-on, so you can easily remove the bolts and brackets holding it to your frame horns, and mount the factory crash bar and bumper back on.

I know you'll be very happy with the end result. I sure was, and I get compliments on the bumper all the time :)

Tyler and satin over at pelfreybilt are awesome Have a front bumper, bed rack and bed light bar from pelfrey. Wouldn't choose any other over them. The communication is top notch!!!

Thanks for the responses. So the ridgids mount behind the tubes and not inside. Is that correct. I wonder how hard it would be to make the fog light cans square so the lights could come forward more,

Correct. Easiest way (for me) would be to order the bumper without the fog light cutouts, then cut the squares out yourself, and weld in some square tubing with the right dimensions to fit a D2. Wouldn't be a bad project, and you'd have a square foglight hole. I think it would look cool, actually.

I'm sure either choice would be fine to go with.

Just a little insight to our e-mail and phones. I apologize, we had some issues with our phones before the break and we thought we had them fixed. We've been playing tag with our phone company and internet all week to get both our phones and our e-mail back up and running again. Sorry for the delay.

    Yup love my Pelfreybilt armor!
As far as square fog light cutouts go I remember Tyler talking about giving those a test run and they looked like shit with his bumper. Problem as I see it is the fog cutouts are not round they have a slight oval to them to make them look right on the angled surface and that would be problematic with a square and then trying to get square tubing to go on the inside to look correct....lot of work for something that may look like shit on a $1000 bumper.
    Just my opinion though.

I have D2s in my fogs and they are bright as shit. Not worried about the spread at all, they light up the road plenty.

Just an update. Ordered the pelfreybilt. Single hoop. Cut outs for fog lights and 20" bar.

    Picked up my 886 coils
    Picked up sr 20

Have to save for the d2's

Still contemplating if I should change my order to full hoops.

Going to be exciting to get that bad boy on. Never seen one anywhere around here.

Thanks man. Wish I could find some pics of pre 2012 with full hoops to see what they look like. I have not found enough pics.

Care to point a Canuck in the right direction.

Yeah I saw his.....awsome ride. That bumper is modified to fit his wider fender flares. I was hoping to see a few others.

The only mod was that the wings are at a 20 degree sweep instead of 30. You wouldn't be able to tell unless you put 2 of them together.

I sure love my set up and get compliments all the time. I have D2's in the fog lights, and they work just fine. Sure i may loose a bit of spread due to the recess, but i am going to add a 10" E2 Combo above the bumper. Installation was a snap, the body shop that did it for me said they went on without a hitch.

Just changed to full hoops. Went back and forth between pics and I think I would have kinda regretted it.

I hope I emailed them in time. It has only been four days since the original order was placed.
