Goddamn.. Halfway through a Long Trail Culmination.

    Fucking delicious.

Gonna hit up first chair at Yawgoo Valley tomorrow... Nice to get in touch with my roots again, it's a little smaller than Baker..

(I'm a native Rhode Islander, drove my rig back east for the holidays...)

    Carry on.

    Dark Chocolate Porter...

    9.5% ABV.

    Very delicious.

Put a feeler out on Craigslist to see if someone wants to make the trip back to WA with me.. Glad I have anonymous email. Funny, because I put in my ad that "If you're a stinky hippy I won't like you."..

Evan, I know it's the wrong thread - but PM me the details on that RI/CT spot. If it's within reason I may head out there for Sun.

Reminds me of this old shitbox truck (guessing about 30 yrs old or so) near the Whitman/EB line. Spray-painted on the right rear quarter is "Better than Shoveling" LMFAO

I saw a new tundra 2x4 with his flashers on trying to drive up 93 but all he did was slide and fishtail. 4x4 for the win

I'll admit that I almost ruined my passenger side on the highway on the way in this morning. I was rolling along behind a semi, doing probably 45-50. He got out of the cleared driving lane and crossed partially into the passing lane, which had 2 inches of snow on it. Instant whiteout; couldn't even see the front of my truck it was so thick. And he didn't realize it, either, just staying rolling between lanes and kicking up thick snow. I let off the gas almost immediately and backed off, but by the time I got clear of his mini-blizzard and could see the road again I was probably only a couple of inches away from the right-hand side guardrail.

So rather than being sensible and keeping my distance I passed the bastard first chance I got, haha. :D
Beyond that, an uneventful drive in. The roads are pretty well drifted over around my house, though. Lots of fields.

Lol. Sometimes all that torque works against you. I never even put it into 4x4 this morning, just feathered the throttle on takeoff.
    Duratracs for the win

Sarah's boss threatened to fire her if she didn't walk a mile through the fucking snow, uphill, to her job because no one else is coming in. I don't know why he's an asshole like that. It's a state emergency, all nonessential employees should stay at home.

Shrug. It's possible, I suppose. I was already roughly 4 car lengths back from him (no way I'm tailgating when it's snowing). At 50MPH that would be more than enough time to stop. But, it may have looked closer in his mirrors.
Personally, I'd quicker think he was just focusing on the road ahead and not on staying in the exact center of his lane.

    HA!
Plus side; now when she's old she can tell kids that when she was their age she had to WALK a mile uphill, in the freezing cold and blowing snow, just to get to work. And be telling the truth.

What does she do, and why didn't you drive her? :D

I'm not allowed to see her more than once a week due to some moronic decisions I made when I was much younger that were recently discovered.... I can regain full visitation once I pay my loan off.

And now she's being a bitch about it so I'm fucking done. I don't care. I've had to do worse for less. She needs to grow the fuck up

She works at a bagel place.

If no one else is coming in, why is she the one being threatened with termination?

Clearly vital that such an establishment remain open, for the sake of the nation, through all weather.

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these bagel toasters from the swift completion of your carb-y breakfast"

Odds are the genius running that shop won't even cover his utility bills and payroll on a day like this. I used to be an Assistant manager at a parts store; on days like this you only cover payroll if a plow guy comes in with a wrecked cylinder or something like that.
I can't imagine bagel shops have those sorts of windfalls on crappy days.

    Yeah buddy you wish

And unbeknownst to me, she had covered someone's shift and volunteered to work today.... So I called to give the manager a piece of my mind and found that out. That's why I'm less mad at him and more "what the fuck are you doing" at Sarah

When I called a little while ago I asked if they have had any customers. They've been open since 5 and still have yet to make a first batch of bagels. I'd be surprised if they have even sold a cup of coffee.

But this brings me back to my Wendy's days. Get forced to come in and literally watch an entire movie on netflix between customers. It's ridiculous.
