Damn...lots of CrossFit bashing going on here. Just out of curiosity, why is it always those who can't CrossFit bash it?

Girlfriend's brother has an engagement party tomorrow that I'm supposed to go to. That means no gym for this guy. :pout:

She just got back from Mexico (they go every year...her grandparents live there) so she's been gone for like 2 weeks...I told her today I had to go to the gym after work before I came to see her. She wasn't too happy about that. Oh well. I did it anyway. BUT...tomorrow will be a no go since I'm supposed to be at that dang party. Hopefully I can get in Saturday and Sunday.

I've done Crossfit a few times and still think it's retarded.

    Now, that's dedication.

I tried crossfit...once...I volunteered to be beaten with a phone book afterwards. But seriously, I work out at Gold's Gym, because it's the home of the Original AMERICAN workout.

I am a pretty big fan of crossfit now that i have been doing it for a month. Its not meant to make you huge. Look at Rich Froning, he is not a big guy at all but he has won the crossfit games the last 4 years in a row. Crossfit is all about strength endurance.

Anytime you rep til failure with olympic lifts and overhead lifts your form will be compromised and you risk serious injury. The crossfit pissing contest just isn't worth it IMO... I'll stick to my 5x5 and cardio routine

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. But in Rich's case, I'd say being 5'9'' and 190 is pretty big. It's not Mr. Olympia big, but that's big in my book. I'm 5'11'' and weigh the same as he does! I think guys like him are exceptions to the Crossfit lifestyle, because the only time I've ever seen anyone in that good of shape and that big from doing Crossfit, they're on t.v. The majority of people doing it are just like the majority of people at regular gyms: skinny people trying to get ripped or fat people trying to get skinny. And then there's freaks like Rich and Lucas Parker, just like their are freaks like Cutler, Coleman, and Phil Heath

I tried crossfit for a month. Some of it was good, lots of it was bad.

They put an emphasis on form and then not use it. I drive past a box on my way to work and sometimes I see them doing partner workouts. Once they were carrying loaded barbells, 6 foot tall dude on one end and a short girl on the other...makes perfect sense

And with the super fit people, thats like the 3%'ers you see at the games.

I did it for about the same length of time and was disappointed, as well. I don't think seeing how fast you can do a rotator cuff destroying pull-up is going to make you any fitter than doing a strict, slow, pull-up. My g/f and I went and they were trying to teach her how to do cleans and snatches and she, along with 3 or 4 other people were getting injured. I told my g/f I'd teach her proper form at the gym lol...and the fact that everything's a race is stupid, IMO. I don't care if someone can clean more times than me in 10 minutes...I would be more impress to see someone clean 300 lbs 5x5, slow and with good form. But, opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one.

Those pull ups look like the most painful, irregular, destruct-full things I have ever watched. Speaking of which did shoulders and bi's last night. Best friend was in town so we hit up GOLDS GYM. He had us doing super sets for the first two sets. Not my thing, I don't get a better pump or feel as though I have focused a better workout on the muscle group from doing so. However, he is still by far the best workout partner I have worked with. BTW interesting group of weirdo's at the Scottsdale location. Pregnant chicks with so much pigs fat in their face that they look like dudes.

I watched him for a bit at the crossfit comp in england. When they were doing the ladders. Dude is beast mode! I was rather impressed by that. And I watching this on ESPN, at the gym of all places:D

Not the pull ups you jackass, the dead lift/military press ladders. You know daddy hates that cross fit shit, but that was full on impressive.
