Ran into this gentleman yesterday evening at the RC shop near my place. real nice guy. said he was familiar with TW and liked how friendly/helpful the place was. told him to register and come hang out/wheel with us. good looking truck. he had just put on the rear bumper.

    not mine :D

the wings are tilted down as they go towards the rear of the truck. it's especially noticable on relentless bumpers, and a good number of ATOs. not as present on most of the CBIs, All Pros, and ARBs. though this is an ARB, so it's a little more surprising.

i actually have the reverse problem on my drivers side wing, but that's because i hit a tree, going much faster than i would have liked to hit said tree.

my understanding is that it's slight watrping when you weld up the bumper. you tack the bumper together in the proper position, but then they curve down after finish welding it. i would guess that the fabricators don't fix it, because the alternative scenario is that you tack it with the wings up, and let them wark into place. but then you risk them not warping far enough, and are left with a bumper that doesn't fit. in the end it jsut comes down to a quality control thing.

Ah! So it's the gap from the fender to the bumper?

exactly. that's the biggest problem eric has at relentles. when he started out, he was golden, but then he started these damn group buys, and can't keep up with them. i've seen some pretty terrible relentless bumpers since then. this is why i'm a big CBI fan. they cost a little more, but their attention to detail and qualityt control is beautiful, even with their growth over the last 3-4 years.

it's not the gap itself (you need the gap), but the fact that the gap gets bigger as you go towards the rear.

i've seen first hand CBI does a beautiful job and everyone i've talked to that has a CBI bumper cannot say enough great things about them. when i bought my tars from aaron (Tex) we talked alot about his truck which has the moab up front and the rear with swingout and man were they beautiful.

CBI was on the phone with him during the whole install on the rear apparently. good company
