I have always found that a softer sidewall with make you feel like you are pushing in the corners. I usually run a higher that recommended psi.

well try a few different psi settings and see what feels best for you in a tacoma.

overall i think its one of the best handling trucks i've driven.

It is certainly one of the best riding trucks I have driven if not the best. But I would gladly trade that smooth ride for more confident handling.

You may be right on point here. The thing I liked best about my GMC, and my older F150 for that matter was I could feel where the thing would break loose and ride that edge with confidence. This truck feels more like it is pushing and rolling through the corners. I may just have to get used to it and quit my whining!!

A LOT of that is the terrible steering toyota seems to think is ok. Way too light off center and no road feel.

Doesn't seem too light off center if anything a little stiff, but the no road feel is spot on true for mine.

You're comparing a full size truck to a midsize. It's apples and oranges. Also keep in mind, 2nd gens don't come with a rear sway bar at all and a mild one up front. Full size truck's have fat ass sway bars front and rear with the expectations they'll be towing heavy loads. Purely based on what I read, your gripe is with body roll.

So you want a car? I say that aftermarket suspension should help. SHOULD help. Mine's lifted and what not and it rides smooth. To me anyway.

Ah one thing to keep in mind is that if you want to lift the front at all plan on getting some adjustable upper control arms. You'll want some caster to keep that decent steering feel and keep it from wandering.

Hadn't thought of it that way before... Hmm. I also wasn't aware that I have no rear sway bar.
That would change things a bit...

haha I'm talking purely the steering effort. It feels very similar whether I'm 5* off center or 45*. It's mostly because I'm lifted and have almost no caster though.

Put on your snow gear, grab a flashlight, and go crawl under the ass of your truck and look for yourself.

Actually since I added the Arb bumper, I feel everything in the front end. The weight must help with my steering on poor roads. Just a guess.
