Saw a tundra over the weekend in south lake Tahoe that had wat looked a lumber rack over the shell but it turned in to a luggage rack over the cab.... if I remember correctly, the sides looked more flush then the normal over the shell lumber racks, thought it was kinda koo, iam planning on when in get my shell to reinforce thenrack mounts with a frame to the main bolts that hold the bed to the frame rails, kinda like a full arch in side

Skygear- Is that base price $1899 or $1399? I've got an xr on order (sb, just like yours), and the base price is $1495.00. I live in Western CO, where things can be pretty pricey, so depending on where you live I think you should be able to get it for less. Just my $.02.

I do. Told the guy on the phone that I did also. He must NOT be familiar with his product. Thats why I asked him to email me what he had in the quote. I plan on shopping the price, and calling LEER directly to verify the options and ask about them drilling 'holes' for my wiring harnesses.

Drilling the topper 'voids warranty' unless they do it.

Thats $1399. Same thing though, I will be shopping the price. $50 for installation. Told them to take that off. I can do that myself.

    Windoors are $120
    Sliding Windoors are $190

on my 100XQ I have the removable Sliding front window. Was hoping to 'swap' mine for the standard one. Thats another ~$100 I would save on this investment.

Already have the Strutt switch, power locking solenoid, dual LED dome lights and that window. My 12v needs for the rear are taken care of already too.

ALl those things add up fast. Really just want the bare bones as written in the quote.

The guy mentioned that I would need to buy my own mounting brackets, and bed seal gasket <0--- Whatever that strip is called, its a weather strip for all intensive purposes.

Unless I let them install it for the $50...? WTF!

ANyone have some roof shots of the 100XR Roof Rails? Currious how they are spaced on the cap. On my 100XQ I simply installed my rails in the rain gutter/ body line marks on the roof. Then cut the rails I had so that they were ~1/2" from each end of the cap.

If you people could also post a couple shots from inside of the cap of the screws/ bolts. Want to see how many they used and if they come through the topper.

Anyone have the Sliding windoors on a SB LEER 100XR?

I was also told that the difference in pricing on the commercial topper(100RCC) was only $150. Was told that the roof was the same reinforced one as any with the factory roof rails. Cannot get the single handle in the Commercial series.

Again, calling LEER to verify all the statements. Guy really was all over the place. Could here other customers in the background. Not that it is a bad thing, just that mistakes can be made, and WERE made. Like as in the Short bed vs extra shortbed.

If you could. I appreciate it. I imagine the lines are the same. The rails are not MOULDED into the roof are they? Might remove them and just install the frontrunners if the length is too different.

I told him it was the 61" Toyota Tacoma Dual Cab Shortbed 05-14 2nd Generation.

Maybe I confused him. He told me he understood. Mentioned above also, he seemed side tracked. There were customers in his showroom and could clearly hear him carrying on multiple conversations.

No stress though. I have figured out what I want, and hopefully I can get the whole thing wrapped up in a timely fashion.

I have the 100xQ and it cost me $2275.00, Doesn't matter what size bed you have the price is the same for short or long. I have bought about 5 caps over the years. The one I have now has the Removable front slider, roof rack with bars only, One light in rear, I had them wire the light to my under bed light switch. You don't need all that electronic stuff. Just something else to brake. So easy to use the key to unlock and lock. I did have one where I had them install the rail system on top, but it is better to have it from the factory. They had to drill and put special bolts with rubber gaskets so it doesn't leak and they do go all the way through. They need your Vin# so there won't be any mistakes at the factory, so it doesn't matter if he made a mistake writing it down.

    That one went back

Does yours have the FEET? or the RAILS?

No stress. I got the 'other electronics' for free. The strutt switch is for the door and power lock too. I understand the risk of failure. But i have doubles of both. A company that stopped carrying LEER gave them to me with the purchase of a couple feet of fuel line. The guy peaked outside, said 'good looking truck' then asked about some of the things I had done to it. Told me they no longer carried LEER. Had a box full of parts I could have, all new, in bags, just didn't want to bother with the stuff. Had been sitting on the shelves for longer than they would like to to admit.

Do I got bunch of the LED tail lights, LED dome lights, Strut switch, random keys, hardware, lock cores, wire, plenty of surprises in that box.

They are not "moulded" to the roof at all but they are fastened pretty damn well.

Excellent. Maybe I can compel LEER to make my rails LONGER to accommodate the mounting needs of the front runner rack . Or not. I will see how the rack looks. Maybe they would install my Front runner rails at the factory and save me some money?

I like having the feet mounted so far apart, (far foreword and far back with the middle bracket also) - I feel it more evenly distributes the weight of the load.

Will wait for the pictures and weigh my options after talking to them on the phone.

I have the rails. That's cool that you got all that stuff. The rails are made by Thule not Leer.

You are correct. I know that Thule makes the rails also. Sometimes my thoughts do not come out clearly when I type. I was more referencing that since LEER installs them, that the rails (THULE) are theirs (LEER).

I feel I tend to complicate things when I picture them a certain way. Then again, thats what we pay these company's for, to get their products the way we want them. Otherwise those of us capable, and able, of making our own products would.

Gel Coats and fiberglass in such a large product is beyond my skill set. Have done dashes, boats and other projects. I just do not have access to the gear they do to do all the fab and baking.
