Is anyone currently running a lightweight crankshaft pulley on their 3.4l automatic Tacoma. Trying to find out a little more about this before installing one. Thanks

What is this mod supposed to do?
Reduce rotating mass for faster acceleration?

Ya all that good stuff! My question really has to do with the fact that these lighter weight pulleys dont dampen like the stock one. So Im curious about extra engine wear on the crankshaft and crankshaft bearings? You dont have one installed on your truck?

Quicker accel, rev up, throttle response. Power gain throughout rpm range. Oem pulley around 10 lbs, light one in 3 lb range. So 7 lbs less rotational weight.

6061 aluminum with clear anodized coating. If you damage or hurt this thing you should not have been doing it to start with and other things are likely to be damaged as well...

If I want to lose 7 pounds of rotational weight, I could gain 10 times that by putting car tires on the truck.
    It's a V6 for the Chrisake.

This is a crank pulley so 7lbs less rotational weight that is spinning at say 4-16 times faster than the rpm of the tires/wheels. This has much more effect than taking 7lbs tire/wheel weight off.
Also smaller lighter wheels/tires is a good way to help accel through less rotational weight and changing overall gear ratio due to smaller diameter tires.
Both are ways of achieving similar results.

    Easier to stall.. Less torque..

Had one and sold it. Not fun when crawling. Instead I went with a 30lb Flywheel from LCE ($300). Lost top end, but I drive a Mini S for that. Massive amounts of torque when wheeling. To each their own.

I think OP is curious in reference to your for sale thread in particular. No offense but I would also like an explanation from an experienced third party to support or deny your claim. No one else has sold this or even discussed it thoroughly as an option for increasing performance.

Automakers seem to use aluminum and plastic wherever they can. To save weight and get better mpg, I suppose.
The fact that they choose to use steel for this part, but use aluminum for heads, blocks, motor mounts, wheels, etc, says a lot.
Imagine what an aluminum crankshaft could do, if it worked.
