I found a bin called "very good box" or something that fits perfectly. I just need to get 3 more. Carpeting is high on my list along with some kind of organizer for my back seat area and rock sliders.

The Bogert Group makes some great stuff. Once I figured out that I could put my hi lift in the factory jack spot of my AC ;)

I purchased their Safe Jack Stabilizer for it.

I could see owning the Bottle Jack kit too. Great choice.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.

I like that a lot but I bet the scrap pieces of wood that I keep in the bed for this purpose were a lot cheaper. :p

nice that looks good under there like that

I used to do that but 3 pieces of 4x4s on not so solid ground with the factory shitty jack= sketchy situation :(. Now I can go to anything to lift my truck the frame, a LCA , axel, or sliders in the future safely

How to fit a Joel Etchen Guns custom combo with EELL wood, B. Rizzini, Benelli Ultralight or pretty much anything else you own

    guncase_zps79e08dac_2eba7c2b2831c87881ce146ba1cef99905f6b01d.jpg

I still carry some dimensional lumber with me when I know I'm going off road. But it is not my first choice to use. A rock under it or even a bump in the Canadian Shelf will split it faster than a hydraulic wood splitter once you get pressure on it. But it has saved my butt more than once. And also damn near given me a heart attack.

I'll definitely keep that in mind. I've been putting a blanket over the wood to keep my thermarest sleeping pad from either getting a splinter or getting pinched in the space between the wood.

Think a rear winch is in my future..

Drove onto what was a frozen stream; totally gave way as soon as the front end got off of the bank. Good stuck.

Rigged a self recover from the rear, then a friend showed up. Decided to do the safer option and have him get me unstuck.

    Tried winching; he started sliding.

Instead of rigging an anchor on him, decided to give my snatch strap a shot.

    It worked.

Think a rear winch may be in the future. Or at least fabricate a Pull-Pal.

    Enjoy.

Thank you. I have just the telescoping pole for this idea. Originally it was going to be for 'security' - a camera. But can make it multi purpose. Especially with the height I can get on it/

What do you fellas use for strong weatherproof containers? I have lots of actionpackers but they are a little flimsy. They bulge and the lids can take off on their own(almost too out 2 bikers). Pelican cases are too expensive. I think if the container is more expensive than the contents, the case may be too expensive.

    Any ideas?

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
You should be able to locate some second hand pelican cases. Lotta excess after 13 years of combat in two theaters. If the hinges and latches are good, at most you may have to install a new gasket or possibly the breather.

    These look interesting..

    http://shop.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=1537715

It's worth a shot; especially at that price. I've got a hard time rationalizing dropping $500 + on Pelican cases, and really don't like the idea of putting them on a rack up in the air. Too much weight up high.

Picked up a few big Sealine Dry Bags, they've been working great for me. Plus, when they're empty, they can be stored much easier..
