I'm positive one of mine is going out too. Once I get my bumper installed I'll have it looked at when I get another alignment. I think my front end was too high to get it aligned properly right after lifting.

It might be my carrier bearing now that I think about it. I need to lift the rear end and get it up to about 25mph to see where it's coming from.

My next project is to replace all the moving parts on the drive shafts: u-joints, carrier bearing and maybe the cardan joint. Was hoping to do the flywheel and a Lefty transfer case but priorities are changing.

Yeah, I need to figure out what's squealing on my driveshaft, replace the tie rods, new lower ball joints, new fan clutch, and new cv's.

Yeah, stuff is starting to wear out on mine too, hence the change in priorities. Found out the driver side LBJ is leaking. So thinking of doing both driver and passenger at the same time. Still need to get the passenger side CV boots replaced.

Definitely would do both lbj's. I'm planning on getting the lotus axles to replace my oem's if I have the money.

Yup, they're stronger and have only been broken I think twice in South America and once in Europe. The boots are also high angle and heavy duty. The only time people seem to tear through the cv's was with sticking jamming into them.

Yup, and after talking with others that have them, they're worth it to not have to change out cv's every couple of years like all of the other cv's out there.

    Might as well get RCVs..

Plus then..that means you'll break the diff instead of cvs. Ill replace cvs over diffs..

Didn't think RCV made axles for us?

Yeah, that's IF you plan on spinning your tires like crazy. If I'm having to put that much power down on the front then I'm trying another line. I don't push my truck hard enough to break the diff.
That's my point. Having to continuously replace them versus doing it once and being done.

Not always about wheel spin. If your going to get 35s at some point. Does not take much. One little hop or bad angle with just a touch if torque. And pop.

RCV will make anything you want.

Well, locker up front with 35's and Lotus cv's shouldn't be a problem. After wheeling with a friend with open diffs front and rear and lotus axles push his truck through some intense stuff. I think I'll be fine with what I do.

If RCV can do custom axles that will for sure fit and be $1,000 or less I'd love to do that.

Yea RCVs are twice as much. High angle tho and freaking strong and lifetime warranty as well.

That would be awesome to have, but if I'm looking at it correctly is the inner joint still a cv boot? If so do they replace it if the boot rips? My issue with mine is the inner cv boot.

Yea a boot still and it's high angle. So should be fine. My outer tore and my inners didn't. I can speak for if they replace them if the boots tear. But they are the same style your lotus me and the same style as Porsche 930 boots that LT guys use on tundra axles.

Yeah, so it shouldn't be an issue then unless a stick jams into it. Like the idea of getting rid of that outer boot. But idk if it's worth and extra $1,000 haha

My outer boots are perfectly fine on my OEM cv's somehow. My passenger side inner is slightly ripped and my driver side inner slid back and released most of the grease. Need to replace my inner seals also.
