After maintenance, truck needs to rev to 2k+ in order to accelerate.

Hey guys, my name is Paul and I have been following this forum for some time now. I am not one of those guys, although it may seem like it, who is posting for help and will not be around, I am just still learning and so instead of saying something dumb I just don't say anything at all. BLUF: I have a 2010 V6 double cab Tacoma with 42000 miles. I recently read the sticky on changing the plugs, oil, and lubricating the propellor shaft. The truck ran fine before I completed all of these maintenance tasks. Afterwards though, my truck now idles to 2,000 RPM before "kicking" into gear. Unfortunately I have troubleshot to the best of my ability and am seeking your guys' help please!

 

Did u leave the vac line disconnected on drivers side intake. Will have a big sucking sound under the hood by the vertical intake support.

 

No, there is no sucking sound, and I went over all of the hoses and connections to make sure they terminated somewhere. I made certain all of the gaps on the plugs were correct also. I am stumped.

 

Sounds like a vacuum leak.

 

Did u remove the air box section that attaches to the throttle body?

 

He didn't mention a check engine light so I'm thinking he does.
A disconnected sensor would kick it on right away.
I think he's missing something.

 

No, I did remove the intake hose and air filter housing though. I am gonna go back out there and check one more time.
