Arizona needs a master, official website for all OHV trails. Locations, information, current open/closed/restriction status, maps, ect. I think it would be an invaluable resource if it was easy and intuitive... also help people stick to tread lightly. Right now I just spent about 2hrs trying to see if Martinez Canyon is open or closed. According to the BLM map, it looks closed as it's not listed. Except, it's not BLM land... it's State Trust land... and it's listed on their website as an advertised trail to use.

Confused yet? Because I am...

Tempting, but it would take a lot of work and collaboration with a lot of districts. Let alone coding and such... something I could probably start though or at least try to get together via crowd funding or something and find the right peeps to help make it all happen.

It would make it a lot easier on the state I would think too. Could easily add in bits to each trail/region to ask for assistance from local off-road groups and clubs to keep the integrity of the trail in shape, report issues, organize clean up efforts, ect. Can easily flag trails that need to be "adopted" and such as well. Could also easily list check in/check out on trail... all kinds of ideas. If it could be done... might be something that could easily be taken nationally.

 

So like asking for updates on open trails and such?

 

Well my idea would be, it's a centralized easy to use website, and the various land owners (BLM, State Trust, Forest Service, ect) would directly update on their own the trail status.

 

so im going to apply at big two toyota tomorrow. Any other suggestions??

Good luck getting a job at a dealer right now. Most of them are slow right now.

Why not make a site that extracts this info to its database?

 

Because I can't even extract it manually. A lot of it is in randomly located PDF's or only available in hard copies.

 

Any 1st genners have a 4wd steering rack I can get cheap, willing to rebuild it.
