Yea, I bet it'l be a handful to keep steady at 400 as a handheld w/o IS. Lots of people do it though... I've got an uncle in Vancouver, could arrange a trip

 

I finally took some shots for the weekly challenge so I'm going to be posting the submission and throw aways later. I reverse free lens shot with my 50mm at f/2.8. It's actually pretty easy to hold the aperture when you dismount the lens.

Hold DOF preview button and dismount button then twist off. Had to play around to figure it out.

 

Pulled the trigger on a 35mm 1.8 and the vello shutterboss shutter release Next on my list, Tokina 11-16 2.8 Going to have to wait for next paycheck. Just collecting lenses. lol

 

Setup and submission for the weekly challenge thread. Thought this might be fitting since I'm going on my annual duck hunting trip this week.








BTW both of these shots were taken with the same lens. Top one mounted normally on the camera.
Second one handheld backwards against the front of the camera.

I thought he had a Nikon . . . It's hard to keep track of everyone's gear in here.

 

Idk who we're talking about shooting what but I have a canon t2i and a 50mm and a Nikon D90 body and no Nikon lenses I'm trying to sell for $400 with a battery grip haha

 

How'd you manage a gripped D90 with no lenses?

 

No no haha I shoot with the canon. The d90 I've just had lying around. I shot my macro photo reversing the 50 and free lensing since I don't have a reversal mount.

 

You're not helping with the confusion swapping in that OM-D with the Nikon you have.

 

Now if you had used the Canon 50mm on the D90 for the challenge you would have been on to something.

 

I have a Nikon F to canon adaptor somewhere actually, no need for it though since I sold the Nikon lenses.

It's a "beginner" model compared to the "intermediate" D90 too, but it's worlds better in terms of low light performance and better resolution.

I have a Canon 7D with a 24-105L lens.. Unfortunately no Macro lens... YET!!

and Chaz is correct.. haha. my mistake for wording that so poorly.. most of the leftovers from the macro challenge as well as others from our hike.

 

lol you got that right about gear being a small factor, body doesn't really matter it's mostly the lens and even more so the person behind the camera, that's awesome.

Ha I'm going to be sad giving it back in a week. I'm very tempted to switch. There are features this has that make photography SO much more enjoyable, yet low light performance and AF tracking moving subjects fall behind. Two things that aren't exactly small stuff. If it wasn't for those two factors it'd be a no brainer. SO much better! ha
