Ok, that's pretty sad. I guess that area doesn't really stock salt though incase of ice...

We hardly ever see sand used here, they use mostly some clay crap.

Our low tonight is 10 with wind chill below zero. High tomorrow is only 18. Gonna be back in the 60s Saturday & Sunday. Crazy shit.

about -60 here in the Dakotas as well. Schools and many businesses are shut down. I do have to laugh when schools in the south shut down because it's 18 degrees or something though haha

Yea it was an adjustment moving here. Our schools often close based on weather forecast alone.

Another odd thing I noticed is the pluming (including the water heater) is installed in the well vented attic in most cases. It's a crisis in the making when it gets cold.

West of Columbus got flooded pretty good for a few days. Work out in Plain City, was wide eyed at how high the water had gotten.

They have this pull off spot before you get into PC. Little area to set up and fish or hang out and relax. Water from the river was almost up to the top the of the trash cans. Those metal mesh trash cans that are bolted to a 4 ft post.

That is why you Frackers get the big bucks!

You must be talking wind chill because I show 21 below in Williston as the low. I hunt phez in the Dakotas and have a number of friends in both South and North so have a couple of locations on my phone for weather yet. Spearfish SD is usually pretty decent but one of my friends that retired there is down in the Caribbean right now on a cruise. The bastage!

Not quite as cold here as they predicted.

Guess it is about time for me to get the gloves out. Coffee is freezing solid in just a few minutes working with the dog so I'm not outside long this morning at any one stretch.

Only -52 below with the wind chill here. Once they cut the corn there is nothing between here and the Rockies to stop the wind.

Before I retired from the Navy I was in recruiting duty in Asheville NC and most of the kids that I saw were split between the Navy and AF. If they saw the AF recruiter first they would come in saying the AF told them that if they joined the Navy they would be stuck on some rock island in the middle of the Pacific ocean. So I would fill them in on the AF base at Minot ND. Yeah it can be brutal over where your at! I did spend 6 months at Pearl Harbor which is one of those rocks. 72 all the time does get boring after awhile.

I'm actually shocked they didnt shut down schools today here. It's 27* now but is supposed to drop all day. Also it was raining then turned to snow so the roads are bad. I'm hearing a ton of accidents. They make no sense. They sometimes do a 2 hour delay also, to give it time to warm up or the salt crews to do their thing. Not even a 2 hour delay! If it was just my kid I'd keep him home, no big deal. My wife is a teacher and has to go. I hate that she has to drive in this shit.

It was 28 and sunny here yesterday. I was out shoveling my roof off in just a T-shirt. After two weeks of literally sub-zero weather made worse by 20mph windchills, 28 with no wind was balmy.

LOL I hear ya. It was close to 50* here yesterday. Gonna be in the single digits by the time school let's out with 25 mph wind gusts. It's more the roads not being up to snuff. The city's public works has to be one of the worst. It's really sad how bad they are.

What's really going to suck is that it's raining/melting like crazy right now, and it's supposed to be 10 degrees tonight, 12 degrees is tomorrow's high temp, and it's going to stay below freezing at least through Friday.

    Fun Commute tomorrow!

Sounds like upstate NY weather! -20's for the last 3 days, rain and 48 today, dropping to single digits by this afternoon and sub zero temps tomorrow! WTF??!!
Last night was crazy on the roads, complete ice covered rollovers everywhere. It was tough keeping the car on the road, it would slide just from the roads natural bevel for rain shed. I was driving 10mph...

Yes sir I do include windchill. Although I heard a few years back it got around to -50 ambient. We broke so much equipment running in the cold last night its insane.
