More like bust out the gum rubbers and crampons. there's two inches of standing water in our parking lot, and underneath it's smooth icy slipperiness. Nearly fell on my ass on my way into the building this morning.

That's crazy! Be careful man! Last thing you need is to bust your ass AND be soaked all day!

Seems like a good plan. Hope you don't have any hills on your commute.

yeah, no shit. The drain in the parking lot is covered with ice, so the water's just collecting. I'll go out on my break later on today and see if I can chisel a drain hole, haha! I've got my ice fishing stuff in the truck right now, so I should be able to.

A lot of the towns here in MA sub out the plowing so every idiot with a snow plow goes after the contract. When I lived in Quincy, the guy in charge of my street had a little Jeep Wrangler 4 banger. Stupid thing couldn't push snow to save it's life so he had to make piles like every other car length. All the piles basically created a dam and stopped water flow and we had a winter like this one. The entire road froze with over 5" of ice. I actually went out and put boards under my tires so my tires wouldn't freeze in. The cars on the street froze in completely, people were out with axes trying to get out the next morning.

Pft. My truck is the nicest vehicle by far in a parking lot full of sh*tboxes. And I get to work before pretty much anybody else does. The LAST thing I want is a skating rink for everybody else to come in on...

Heck with that. I'll drop it into 4-low and park on the snowbanks before I let that crap happen, haha! Or do like you did and put down boards or cinder blocks or something. That's why I want to get out and chisel down to the drain today, otherwise I'll come in tomorrow and we'll have 3 inches of solid ice, with how cold it's supposed to get.

Pulled as much snow off as I could with a roof rakee, but still getting a dam near my bathroom. Already made up my mind to buy a roof heater in spring, fuck this

I'm very thankful I have a steep pitched roof. The lower roof isn't as steep but I put Grace Ice and Water Shield on the entire roof and it gets sun almost all day so it melts off well.

Haha, glad it worked out quickly! Sucks you have to threaten companies like that to actually do the right thing. I guess social media does have some good uses afterall!
