Another "Snow" Day

Another "snow" day. Or a "cold" day as we call it. Haven't got much snow in the past week here in Upper Michigan, maybe a foot if that even. My Winter break (or Christmas break, but apparently we're not allowed to call it that anymore ), started December 21st, but I took that Friday off too. We were supposed to go back today, January 6th, but we got ANOTHER cold day.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but it's not THAT cold out. Weather.com says -9 (f) right now, feeling like -31 (f). I just drove into town and got lunch; my truck started fine, warmed up fine, ran fine, I was warm, and I was in shorts, and I made it back without dying. Pretty sure I could've made it to school

Oh well, I won't complain about an 18 day Christmas vacation

So now I'll sit here, drink my coffee, and dream about Tacoma's

I have friends with kids in Connecticut, they love the extra days when they get them because of winter weather, then fume when the missed days are added to the end of the school year, essentially cutting into their summer vacation, goes both ways...

 

Shorts?

I guess it's all what you're used to and prepared for (shorts at -9).

Of course even 12 here is really cold so on the way home from work this morning (at least still near the city) I saw 3 disabled vehicles. A bit above normal in those few miles even for Memphis.

 

I'm a senior, meaning I'll graduate before the end of the year. So bring 'em on!

In all seriousness though, last year we were supposed to have 4 added days to the end of the year, but our school board was able to fight that and our last day was May 30th as planned.

 

Haha, well I originally just planned to run outside and start my truck to let it idle and warm up, but I figured if I already came all the way out, might as well go get lunch.

It's not too bad though, I wear shorts 9/7 days of the week anyway

 

We are having a cold front coming through here also. Last week was 80 F. Tonight will drop down to low 40s and tomorrow morning in the 30s. I'm gonna die! At least it should be back to 70s by Wednesday.

...it's -9F here, supposed to drop to -15F overnight, ...winds producing wind chills in -20s, -30sF...

...i made an attempt to go out to my mailbox today (approx. 150' walk), but failed, ...my storm door was frozen to the jam... maybe i'll try tomorrow

 

Weather.com says -43(f) right now. Just took a walk out to my truck, (yes at 12:00am). Still looks just as beautiful as she did earlier!

Back to Tacoma's
