Try pulling the traction control fuse, or maybe just holding the botton for 5 + seconds to dissable it and see if anything changes.

Its very unheard of for a truck with a mild tire size and stock gears to just blow.

Need some help. Toyota is telling me that it's my center diff and that it won't be covered under warranty because I have a lift on my truck.

Tell them to fuck off! There is a law against that shit. The dealer has to prove that the lift you installed fucked up the rear end. It's just a way for them to save money and fuck you over.

I installed a 6 inch lift on my truck and had it on for a year. My 4x4 actuator went out and the service manager told me they can void my warranty cause I lifted it. Told them to prove that my lift turn that actuator into a pile of shit. They still fixed my truck under warranty.

Don't let them do that shit to you

I'm sure I can tell them that until I'm blue in the face but I need some backing on this. Trying to get someone from toytec and a couple other dealerships.

Complain.*If you think a dealer's service advisor denied your warranty claim unfairly, ask to speak with a supervisor. If you still aren't satisfied, contact the manufacturer or go to another dealer. You also may wish to file a complaint with your*state Attorney General, local consumer protection office, or the*FTC

Getting back up from other manufacturers aren't going to do much. Justlike hhaving one of your buddies call the dealer and pretend to be them. But if you call and made a complaint about the dealer. Then the work will get done. Or just go to another dealer

Would anyone know if my warranty should cover the center diff at 50,000 miles. I know I've got the 8 year 125,000 mile warranty.

Like it's been said, you do not have a center diff. Were they referring to the center support bearing for the drive shaft?

All they said was the center differential.

You guys are making this more complicated than it should be. It's not import what he calls the part that broke. Or is it important if he even knows what side of the truck is fucked up. He just wants to know if it's should be covered.

It's probably the third member of rear diff, spider gears/clutch pack in the carrier for LSD.

Yes, it should be covered. But it's dealer/Toyota's call if they want to cover a truck that has been changed.

Refer them to the lifted tacoma that is being sold on their lot.

Anything powertrain is covered by the 5 year 60k warranty.

Dude, fight them! Be assertive, and also point out that the transfer case (maybe what they are referring to) is mounted in place and any type of lift would not harm the case, even the rear diff, as long as there aren't any crazy angles, is practically solid state. As stated above, center diff does not exist on our trucks. But again, be assertive in getting them to fix it, have them prove that it caused it, call Toyota of America, ask your service rep for the number to make sure you mean business. Good luck dude

X2, you must be able to know what's going on, unless you are a fantastic bullshitter like this unfortunate guys service rep...
