Recently my Wife and I have been considering moving outside of NY and trying something new. We both have lived in NY for our entire lives (28 years), pretty much the same town except for 4 years of college. We feel like if we don't do this soon we probable never will, as we have not had any kids yet.

We are looking for a change of scenery, some country land, a log cabin and some place to enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and outdoor powersports. I am a mechanical engineer and my wife is a physicians assistant.

In your opinion, what are the best things about living in Colorado? Thanks boys and girls

yeah you nailed it there. Taxing my ass off and trying to take my guns away is not anything that has me tied to NY at the moment

LEGALIZED WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED, honestly though unless you are heavy into outdoors, adventure sports, the great outdoors, you are probably going to hate it.

And Colorado is supposed to be better for this reason? You might be happier moving here to AZ

We have legal weed and restrictions on magazine capacity.

But we have mountains, hiking, hunting, legal guns etc.

Take the good shit and help us vote out the bad!!!

I just moved here about 9 months ago, and it was the best thing I ever did. Tons of stuff to do, beautiful scenery, and a much healthier lifestyle overall. The worst parts for me? Very liberal/hippy in central Denver (where I live) and the rising cost of real estate, although it will probably seem cheap considering where you're coming from. I'd definitely recommend it.

We just moved here from San Antonio. We love CO so far. The weather is great in the summer and winter snow means winter snow sports. I bet you and your wife would like to ski/snowboard so I just think of it as a trade off. I have to shovel the drive way but I get to snowboard on the weekend. Trails, mountains, mild dry summers, active community, Rockies games, decently friendly people... I love Texas for fishing and hunting and the people... but CO has more to offer. Plus Denver isn't too far into the mountains but close enough. It's a great place to live.

Colorado is the best. Moved here in 2002. Tried to move to another state in 2011, but moved right back within 6 months.

I've spent plenty of time in the other 47 indigenous states, & Colorado is still my favorite for sure. Too many reasons to list.. :D

These are exactly the reason why we are looking at Colorado. We ski, snowmobile, atv, fish on the boat about every day in the summer/spring/fall, hunt, etc

Then this edge of the America's will be where you will be most happiest my friend. Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada all are covered in mountains which equates to fun active shit to do...... How is the work for Mechanical Engineering in Colorado?

This is the back of my mind as well. I'm a outdoors guy. How's the city of Denver? I'm sure the economy is booming now.
