I've noticed that since I put my 3" lift kit on, I have lost a MPG or two was at 16-18mpg consistently pre-lift, now about 14-16mpg after lift. With the softopper on it's even worse, even down to 14.5mpg with mixed city/hwy (mostly city). It's horrible in the winter time. However I increased my psi on my 265/75/16s to 35 all around and got 17mpg my last tank so i was happier.

16.5 right now for me. 6 speed manual, 33s, ARB bumper and winch. 3"OME lift. Lost 1-2 mpg with mods. Did not check it well enough as I was moving through the mods to see what made the biggest difference.
91/93 octane results in 1 mpg better for me, but I do it for the performance rather than the mpg. Hi test doesn't quite pay for itself, but it's close enough.

I just finished a 1200 mike trip and averaged 15mpg at 65 mph, but that was through snow, with the truck completely loaded down and 65mph wind gusts through Wyoming. In the city before the trip I was averaging 16-18.

I get about 17-18 US MPG on the highway in 4WD but in the city it can go as low as 11-12 MPG in 4WD

I'm going to start my own "What's your MPG" thread just for 2.7 5-lug RCs on stock tires with a shell and 6 months worth of Mobil-1 in the bed.

That's about how crazy these threads tend to get.
Fact is, whether you have a 2.7 or a 4.0, 2wd, or 4wd, you are going to be somewhere between 14 and 30.
There's going to be overlap in the 18-22 range where there are some 4 bangers that only get 18, and some 4.0s that pull 22.
More of MPG is the driver and driving conditions than "what truck" it is.

    City driving kills MPG.
Highway is good, but speeds above 65 kill MPG.
    I get 22 at 80mpg, and I can pull 26 at 65.

I'm starting my own as well... "What's your MPG on your 13' DCLB V6 4x4 on 275/70/17's"
I always reset my trip just to see what I get. Obviously I'd like to get 30mpg but I'm going to drive my truck and it needs gas to run so wether I get 15mpg or 30mpg I'm going to have to put fuel in it...

:pout: I'm out then. 285's are not a viable mpg thread contribution. And I'm an old school '12.

I average about 12-13 city on my 07 V6 6Spd TRD OR. I also do not drive friendly for MPG at all. I can average about 15 on the highway. I think my dad whose much easier on the roads can get almost 18-19 highway. Sucks eh

According to my Ultra-gauge, I've averaged 20mpg over the last 18,000 miles or so. 265/70R16 BFG ATs, a cab height shell and a light bar with 2 PIAAs are my only external aftermarket mods. 2010 TRD OR Access Cab 4x4.
