Saw the picture of Noelie84 bucking wood with a good dose of safety gear. Having dodged enough accidents I would like to invest in a good set of chaps. I process about 20 cords of wood per year and want them to be effective and durable, any recommendations?

    Nice truck.
I have a Black 70 CST short bed that I personally restored, but I shaved all the moldings and marker lights etc. Had custom steel wheels made for it, powder coated gloss black. Looked just like yours except short bed and dark cherry when I bought it. Lowered too.

Oh you got a bed in the bed lol.

Yeah I've seen them in the sierras I believe, awesome tree, we used to call then refrigerator trees when we were kid. I've never burned it though, I'll have to give it a try. We have tons of oak around here which is what I usually burn, though just for pleasure as it hardly gets very cold around here.

If you season Madrone for 2-3 years , it's like coal , I have some that's 6 years old , I use it on cold nights and for overnighters

Here is my pile, mostly oak, madrone, and fir. I leave a good amount un-split, it's nice to have a lil physical work to strech out with during winter. Not sure exactly how much is here maybe 5-7 cords burn about half each year.

I believe you, I'll be heading out on a wheeling trip in a few weeks. There's a ton of it from what I remember, I'll have to load some up.

Thx :) agree with you about the madrone, seasoned a few years and there is nothing better, lots of heat and low ashe, def my favorite wood.
