Had a good one today at work.
I'm pissed because my traffic camera was pointed the wrong way to catch it as it happened.

Big 50ft Sunbelt manlift... rear tire popped through the sidewalk. I'm assuming it broke through into a catch basin, I didn't get over to see the damage.
I think the worker was okay... he was up about 30ft, and I saw a guy wearing a harness and lanyard walking around with the firemen.

Are Houston drivers that bad? It seems that intersection has some serious design flaws, maybe timing in the light cycles?

It's more that Houston drivers are oblivious to their surrounds than just plain bad drivers.

Most of the red light runners start out facing a red light on the southbound feeder, which is the far side of the shot. When they get a green light to turn left under the overpass, heading East, they momentarily see a green light. The light turns red while they're still under the overpass, with ample time to stop. There is, in no way, enough time to make the green. I have a coworker with a worked Infiniti G37S that has tried to make the light. There just isn't time. So the brain dead driver looks up, sees the green, and just proceeds through the intersection.

A great majority of the intersections in Houston where an overpass is involved work differently. When your light turns green from the feeder you're clear to go all the way through, but not this one.

I couldn't tell what happened. Was the bike stolen? Was the first SUV a cop or citizen? What was he arrested for?

The SUV was a West8District patrol. We're not sure why he was arrested. I did a search for local arrests but didn't find anything.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I'm betting drugs, not the bike? Either that or public urination? Obviously you can't see what exactly he is doing... but I am betting he was up there to try to sell something. That's why the other guy came over and stood up at the top looking/watching over it.

Yeah, it's not the bike. I'm guessing he picked up a drop. When he spotted the cops he threw whatever he had and it looks like he spilled whatever it was. You can see him sweeping the pavement, scattering something.
