    Writing how we will test the aircraft and how we will collect and report the data. What the metrics are and what kind of data we need for the metrics. A lot of research and a lot of looking through engineering data and engineering "hopes."

    Wow....there has been three suicides at my old high school in the last couple of months. The parents/teachers/hospital are getting together and doing a bunch of seminars to raise awareness and help kids get counseling, etc.

    Its actually a pretty interesting town....I have no idea what is going on right now though. Its encouraging that the adults are getting together and addressing the issues

    I know whats going on. Poor parenting is coming to a head and now they are scrambling trying to stop something that should of been addressed way before their children started taking their lives. At this point the parents are way past being proactive and are in mop up mode. Good to see them banding together now, but seems to little to late.

    My wife the therapist would say that the suicides may be due to the winter conditions in MT... Seasonal Affective Disorder and what not...

    Too late for 3 families :( But hopefully not too late for others. My town prides itself on being known as a tough, self sufficient sort of community so we don't like to talk about problems, you're expected to figure it out for yourself. At least that's how it always seemed to me.

    My senior year of HS there was one kid that killed himself and no one talked about it, no one asked the students how they were feeling about it, nothing. I had a couple of classes with him and I remember my one teacher just announced that we had to redo the seating arrangement (the kid's assigned desk was in the front row) so we just unceremoniously shuffled the desks around and that was that. That always bothered me...that the teacher was more concerned with having an empty front row seat than he was about WHY the seat was empty.
    Totally plausible - SADD is one of the main reasons why I had to leave AK. I couldn't deal with it up there and still have a few issues down here (I didn't before I moved to AK). Or it could have been a dozen other things - sports, friends, GF/BF issues, college...etc.
