Made the mistake of changing out my wife's car from Winter tires to Summer tires a little too early several years ago. That next week it snowed; my wife gets home from work, pulls in the garage, walks in the house, and without a hello or anything else says, "Get your ass in that garage and put my Winter tires back on now!" ... emphasis on ass and now. Haven't made that mistake again. ;)

Mornin' Mike ... more marketing research today?

Ya a bit more research today... need to come up with a plan of action as well to tackle the project and present to the director :)

How's AK? I was perusing jobs yesterday and saw a couple jobs up there that I was contemplating... don't know if my wife would crap herself though living up there...

Back when Route 50, just outside the beltway, was still 2 lanes I was in a 2 rut lane that was all ice. I was doing 10mph and hit a chunk of ice. The car did a 360 and I slowed down to 5mph. I had to clean my drawers when I finally got home. [IMG]

Temps are back in a more normal range. Staying in 20s rest of week with a little snow forecasted. Back down to single digit and teens over the weekend, still positive though. Forecast beyond that is made up and/or surely will change.

Depends on where your wife grew up as to whether she would tolerate it. My wife is from NW corner of Iowa; weather here in Anchorage area (South Central AK) isn't any worse than there, Winter just lasts a little longer. Fairbanks (Interior AK) is another beast entirely; temps go extreme in both directions there.

The only time my wife complains anymore is when we have to buy airline tickets to visit lower 48.

One of my favorite lines concerning Glen Hwy up here. "A stud rut (hwy gets rutted from studded tires) and an icy patch is a bad combination." :D

You'd move to New Jersey before you'd move back to Alaska? Really?

Seriously though Mike, don't do it if you'd be gone all the time leaving your wife (or wife and kids) home alone. The other factor is the short daylight in Winter. We came here after 7 years at RAF Mildenhall, UK (52N latitude); Palmer is 61N latitude; we didn't notice a huge difference. FWIW

    Fair enough Lisa?

And good morning. Home now ... time for a nap. ;)

do you need some emergency underpants too? I never knew such a thing existed until they showed up in my suggested items on Amazon...along with offroad recovery gear

I don't want to live in Jersey...I just want to be able to boss Boydster around a little :D

And yes, fair enough. AK is beautiful and all but its a tough place to live.
