I go back with my Toyotas, But not that far back...That is a Great looking Rig!

I tell you what, if i ever need to paint my truck... I LIKE that color!!!

The few other toyota trucks i have had were DD, Work & took a lot of abuse. Can not recall ever having a major issue.. Mostly cosmetic.. After selling my 03 pre extra cab to get a 09. It did not take long for me to realize, (Since i Never even test drove one) That it was not a good fit for me.. I never really liked they way i felt inside. My OCD.... I was Blessed to find this 03 Doudble cab! Also had enough cash after sell to upgrade my kitchen but still took a LOSS!!! I was thinking that it would be the same fit and feel....
    I love these trucks!

So many auto makers are consolidating, The lines are getting blurred... They all kinda look alike...

It will be interesting to see what style they come out with & who will be making small/mid-size trucks....

Saw one of the new Jeep Cherokees on the road for the first time last night. What an absolute pile of garbage. Jeep has completely killed the heritage of the Cherokee with that new one. I can only pray Toyota doesn't do the same thing down the road.

Agree. I saw a few around town already and they are bastardizations.

I just saw an image of the 2014 4runners and I must say, that too is a hideous looking vehicle.

I've seen a few of the new 4Runners driving around SLC and they're not nearly as bad in person. Actually nearly identical to the earlier ones except for the front bumper. Those bumpers will be difficult to cut to work with aftermarket bumpers like you need to.

In 10 years, I'd pay $10,000 for my truck. Inflation will make that money seem like $7,000. All new trucks will be in the $50,000 range, so $7,000 will be nothing.

I just bought a 99 Horizon Blue 4x4 5spd XtraCab V6 with 128,000 for $8,600. All original paint. No rust of any kind. It was a lot, but I think it would have sold for $9,000 with a better CL posting. The kid barely could type on the internet.

I'm sorry I ever sold my '95 back in 2007. It was not easy to find a nice one here in the Bay Area, even though 1,000,000 Tacomas were made here in Fremont. These trucks get driven hard and I found a ton of 200,000 mile trucks. All beat. No thanks.

I'm hoping to get 10+ years out of this '99. It's 15yo now with little signs of wear.

If I had to replace it? IDK. There is no 4x4 that is small enough for me. All the other trucks are bloated pigs. A 2nd Gen truck is bigger than I can fit on my small California plot-o-land. If I move to cheaper land, a 2nd Gen will be for me.

If I ever lose my 01 I will probably upgrade to an 03 or 04. That way any mods can be moved from one truck to another. This is the first truck I have really modded/wheeled and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

5 years from now I still plan on driving mine, same for 10 years although it wont be my daily driver by then.

I am currently at 93,000 miles so I should be fine as long as I take care of my frame.

I find the headlights hilarious. My gf is a hardcore Jeep lover owns a 2000 LE Grand Cherokee with the inline 6 that vehicle is a marvel. She has over 280k miles on that sucker. Loves the rubicons still but hates the cherokees. I totally agree they look like shit. "Its a Jeep thing I guess" Ive never understood it ;)

If our 1st gens become extinct though, there is only two options for me a Toyota Hilux or a 2001 F250 7.0 powerstroke.
