I want a Relentless if they had the side protection like Elite. So I'm just going with a CBI since it's only about a month wait time.

 

Wish somebody made one like allpro's second gen plate. Has side plate protection but doesn't require cutting. ut not like I need side protection

 

Elite doesn't require cutting. Neither does CBI's new design.

 

Is the side protection tube or plate?

 

Elite's is plate and CBI offers a tube, or a plate/tube hybrid. I want the plate/tube hybrid. More protection.

 

I just want something different to hang off the rear and a plate bumper seems to be good. Don't plan on expo or anything with this truck so swing outs and what not aren't needed. Side protection might be needed for those concrete poles in front of the gas pumps. haha

I really like the 4x inn no and CBI options.
Before 4x offered the swing out option i was set on their bumper because of cost and looks, but then they released the swing out option and the bumper+SO is in the ballpark of CBI's bumpers.

My new rear bumper will be something like this with a wrap around and tire carrier I think. Basic but useful.

 

I have lived in CO for 22 years... Fort Collins is def my fav so far.

i know your first round of bumpers were god awful hideous, but if you made that with wrap arounds (dont need the tire carrier) i would buy the shit out of it!

at the same time though, making a bumper like that isnt too hard so it looks like something I would want to do, because I like making shit. it would just be nice to have a good ol cnc machine. do yo have access to one? if not what do you think is the best way to get the straight edge cuts on the angled pieces? where do you get that a hitch receiver you welded in?

i dont want to copy your bumper, but thats the exact same style i would make mine, simple, solid, doesn't stick out far, so im bombarding you with questions

 

you don't need a CNC to make that bumper. Super simple. Just a rectangle tube. Cut wedges out of the ends and bend them up to make the angles. Just cut out caps like normal. You can get pre made frame mount plates from eric at Relentless for cheap. Cut the slits for them and the recovery receivers a crossmember and reinforcement. Bit of tubing bent and and your pretty much there.
