OME all around. SPC UCA. This and that.
Go measure your Dakar Leaf spring lift. By they way do you think the extra leaf for Dakar's will be to much for an access cab with a Leer topper?

I bought a 2013 Tacoma TRD Sport in January and eventually had a list of things that bothered me about the truck:
    1. Stereo is laughably bad. Especially those stupid head liner speakers.
    2. Same 4.0 v6 as 4Runner and FJCruiser, but 34 less HP
    3. Old fashioned 3rd brake light looks out of place with new LED tail lights
    4. I miss having a lever for the transfer case. FJ has one.
    5. Same 4wd selector switch as 4runner, but in the 4runner it's lighted. I don NEED it lighted, but WTF? (I will be doing this mod)
    6. bluetooth and USB has some annoying quirks
    7. There's more, but you get the point.

That being said these are rugged little trucks, and the simplicity is part of the charm. I would love it if Toyota built their next generation paired with the FJ Cruiser instead of the 4Runner, especially for the interior and transfer case shifter.

    Not the same 4.0
4R, Tundra, and FJ get the dual-VVTi version.
They also have a cartridge oil filter... yours is a lot easier and cleaner to change, and you don't have to crawl under the truck to do it.

Didn't say it was HARD, but on the Tacoma 4.0, if you have a Fumoto valve, you can change the oil in a nice shirt without a lift and remain presentable.
You still have to crawl under to change the cartridge filter.

Ya... saw a write-up on the FJ and you have to remove an access plate on the skidplate.

But it's better than the 1st Gen Tundra where you had to drop the entire front "skidplate" (thin steel skirt, would have been just as functional if it had been plastic).

I knew more than one guy who took a hole saw to their Tundra skidplate to access and drain the filter.

    I like the BMW method.

On top. Drains into the engine when opened.

The plastic oil change door on my wife's 2010 Prius fell off once after it wore out. I replaced the entire plastic panel, except this time I cut the door at the pivot point and used two stainless door hinges and nylon nuts with ss bolts to reattach it. It swings out nicely and won't be falling off again. I plastic welded a nut to the backside of the plate on the other side of the door. I use a bolt that threads into the plastic welded nut to hold the door in place on the other side, instead of the stupid plastic rivet that always falls apart when you try to remove it. That should make the oil changes easier. These little ways in which Toyota tries to reduce the cost of production really take away from an otherwise nice vehicle and can leave a bad taste in a consumer's mouth.

That filter wrench is in my Amazon shopping cart and I will get it soon. The cheap flutes that everyone sells strip the plastic housing.

Thinking about adding a circular LED ring to ignition key, and linking it to some 12v source. not sure what to get it to dim after a certain time period.

One can never have too many light bars.
What the hell Toyota? I don't understand why they don't offer the Lexus V10 in the Tacoma.
