    Bank 1 sensor 1 is upstream of the cat (as in the above diagram), correct?

    Also... if one is bad, is the other on the way out? Should I just replace both now?

    I think the best thing would be to wire a switch and fuse off of the current fuse. So pull the fuse, run wires from said spot to a switch location and style of your choice, include a fuse between said fuse spot and new switch. enjoy.

    Correct. And as far as I know, there's not really a way to tell how much longer the sensor may last. I would just leave the other one until the ECM says so.

    I just replaced the upstream one when I got the code, but your code did not look familiar. I think mine was a different code. Anyway, it worked for me; I have not had a code since I replaced the upstream censor.

    No ABS ftw! I was wheeling with another 1 gen and some second Gens last winter and they kept skidding down hills and complaining about their abs making it hard for them to stop. Haha no such problems here...

    One of the reasons I like having manual hubs, cv's don't move at all unless I'm in 4wd. So they last a long time because I only have to lock my hubs maybe a couple times a year.

    Yes, but if you forget to lock your hubs, it can suck. I remember my "80, forgot to lock the hubs once, found myself climbing on the hood to reach down and lock them. Not fun!
