Mine was behind the drivers side rear folding seat on my 2011. It's like a holder with a hole in the middle.

I always thought that the washer low light on my 01 was extremely annoying I am glad they got rid of it lol, idiot lights should be for major stuff only. The way I look at it the more minor lights that pop up the more chances some one would be likely to miss a major light.

And then you have the reason why they put those lights in the vehicle, some people drive vehicles and have no clue what is going on with it other than its driving, turning stopping and backing up for them. Light pops up and they have no clue what it means, does or if they are supposed to be worried about it or not. My wife is like this she used to drive a Saturn that would use oil and she showed up to my house one night and it sounded like hell, oil light was on and I checked the oil and it had about a quart out of four left in it. She had no clue it was not supposed to sound like that or what the light was for. I was amazed to say the least lol, but she is not alone in that type of thinking.

I bet if they took away the TPMS light (another annoying light) people would complain about that also.

Your sarcasm is misplaced. And coming from someone in your nice soft location is laughable.

The driving being done was on a four lane in the middle of a blizzard white out with salty slush on the pavement. One lane of traffic only following a goat track in about a foot of snow. The only safe way to refill the washer fluid - there had been a whole jug in the reservoir but it got used up pretty quickly - was to pull off at am interchange. With no light and fluid not working, was not sure if pump was gone or as has happened in the past, the hoses to the nozzles become disconnected. Some warning would definitely had been helpful.

I do all my own maintenance. My Toyota Echo has a friggen light, my wife's Corolla has a light, my truck apparently does not. It took four years to find this out, and pretty damn disappointing.

Checking the washer fluid is about the easiest thing one can do to a vehicle.

    Seriously.

I don't know. Some people might think that checking the air in their tires is hard too. Maybe it's hard for them to see a big, white, clear tank on the left side of their truck. I guess it's so much work then to lift the hood and look on the outside of the tank. Pulling the leaver and lifting the hood is too hard.

I don't think its a matter of its hard to do, or some Tacoma owners are too stupid to check their fluid or other basic maintenance items. It's a question of if a 2nd generation Dodge Ram that's been out of production for 12 years had this... Why not a current generation Tacoma?

Same issue with the limited Lighting in the cab, or intermittant wipers not being standard equipment. These things are nice to have, whether they are critical or not is another story.

Bottom line, is It's a economic concession that some of these things (standard items on other similiarly priced vehicles) are axed to keep the truck under a certain price point.

Living in an area that can experience a lot of "Slush" in the spring & fall, it is bred into me to check the fluid level, However when I discovered my "09" access cab did not have intermittent wipers it was not a surprise it was almost unbelievable, I didn't think you could even "order" a vehicle with out intermittent wipers!!! Luv The Tacoma, but talk about cheap!!!!

That's a pretty reasonable explanation I would say. I get a lot of shush but not like you so it's pretty easy to keep up on for me. I am able to just check the bottle and take a look at it. Glad I don't have as much as you.

It's sad but you know they figure that if they put a light on it some inexperienced auto person will think they need to bring it into the shop which then the shop can sell other services and parts and bill labor. Sure glad they got rid of it

They should get rid of TMPS as well. I find it to be a pain and it's not difficult to check your air pressure and fill it up to the recommended amount. Then I wonder, not like a lot of people read their manuals to begin with.

    TPMS is a Federal requirement.

I think it was because of the Ford Exploders and Firestone Tires.

How dare you defame the Taco with complaints. You bought it, you must have agreed it was OK not to have all the luxury items. ;-)
