My 2012 started the annoying brake squeak at about 15k miles. There would be a rear brake squeak when coming to a stop, with the last couple rotations of the tires only. Annoying as crap. The dealer performed the TSB and now I've had 6k squeak free miles. It took a couple hours for the repair which included new drums. (Of course I had to give them the specific TSB number because they couldn't find it.... Thanks TW)

Took mine in today for 20k service and showed them the TSB. They are taking care of it. I had no problems.

Had the TSB done. Now I'm at 29k and its coming back..I took it back to the dealer and had the tech drive the truck and duplicate the sound. So they kept the truck and told me they had to contact toyota to see what the next step was since they had already replaced the the drums and pads. So i got a phone call saying that toyota wanted pictures of the parts to decide on what to do next. A day later I got the call back and they told me that toyota deemed the parts to be normal and not defective. So they re adjusted and lubricated the parts, and like magic the squeal went away. So for now the squeak is gone. But I'm sure this is not a permanent fix. Since this is what they did the first time before I had the TSB performed..Maybe an aftermaket set of pads would do the fix? But I'm still under warranty so i have to wait...

I had a 2011 taco and did everything that you have the whole nine yards. Still had the same problem. I believe there quality contr sucks now days. So.... I got fed up with it and told the dealer to buy the truck back. They thought I ment trade in. I said no buy it back and after an hour they bought it back. Thought I didn't have to deal with that TSB anymore. I went back two days later and picked up a 2013 Tacoma. And guess what? The same damn shit. If u are gonna replace the breaks with after market which I probably gonna do I'm gonna fight it with the manufacturer and make them pay for costs and labor of after market. Mind u this is my third tacoma. First one was a 2006. No problems on that one

I have a 2006 and it does this squeaking, maybe it just needs cleaning. I have 115k miles on it so I don't think they will do anything for me, at least not free. It seems to be worse when I'm pulling my boat, as soon as I hit the brakes it stops, but when going like 5 to 15 mph it is squeak squeak squeak, kind of embarrassing.

Just had my rear brakes cleaned on my 2013 after explaining to the dealership about the ongoing squeal and the US T-SB. Now the squeal is even worse. I was told that the T-SB for the 2011-2012 is on going and might be able to get the squeal fixed. Have an appointment setup again and will let you guys know. I didn't realize that the US T-SB was available here in Canada.
