    superglue? Did you try a thick epoxy at all? I feel like the thicker gel like viscosity of epoxy wouldn't run and make it easier...

    Of course, I'm not sure how well epoxy sticks to spaghetti... :laugh: :rofl:

    Tried superglue and you need to press the ends together. That did not work well at all. Epoxy is not allowed. [​IMG] Hot glue actually cooks the spaghetti and does not work too well. Ended up using Mod Podge.


    The bridge needs to weigh 500 grams or less including glue and eyehook that will be used to suspend a weight from the center of the bridge. The class will continue to add weight until the bridge breaks. There are actual competitions for this type of project.


    The bridge just needs to stay intact until he makes it into physics class. I am looking for a safe transport method now. Bridge is 30" long and 4" wide.

    Interesting, I did this in one of my drafting classes in high school. Except we used 1/8" square balsa stock (there was a limit to how much could be used though). I got some pointers from my sister (civil engineer major at the time) and the instructor decided to keep my bridge. It kept holding more and more weight than anyone elses and I guess he didn't want to see it break, lol.

    The spaghetti sounds fun. It probably won't hold as much weight, but the design principles should hold the same.
