All the lakes and rivers are frozen, even the front range lakes, only thing open are the tailwaters. Ice fishin season!! Headin to Granby on Saturday to drop some 10" swimbaits for some big ol macks.

The reef is open at least to govt bridge, and I hear has been fishin well.

Me neither. We could give it a try up in red feather, too. I need one of those collapsible ice hut sunna beeches though. Its effing cold because it's so windy this time of year.

Never been up to red feather, but it is supposed to fish pretty well in the winter.

Sadly the next vehicle is going to be the wife's, and she already thinks my truck is too big. So going to have to go with something small and lame.

Me too. But she wants all wheel drive and that makes for a little bit cooler car anyway.
I don't know if any of you guys like to draw. I used to want to be a tattoo artist but don't have the skills. I did do my first drawing in a few years and it turned out decent.

Nice! Wish I had time to draw. Hell even time to read a book these days would be nice.

I'd be down with some of this action too perhaps.

I love chalk work and the emphasis it puts on shadows & light no matter the subject matter.

What makes you say you don't have the skills? Looks like you have the skills for being a tattoo artist to me. Step one (the biggest step) is being able to draw. Hence: artist. Looks like you got the basics (and then some) down so if it's something you want to do... why not chase it? Your career would let you work on it a few hours here and there and for a few weeks/months out of the year too. You never know...

Aaron and Ost, I can't make it up to the cabin this weekend, but I will let you guys know when I do. Like I said though, the ice hut is necessary.

About the drawing-thanks for the kind words! That's just pencil and paper, I highlight using a soft eraser using strokes as if it were adding instead of taking away. I do plan on drawing a lot more in the future. Maybe I will be able to do SOMETHING with it during the summers.

I talk a tough game but I likely wouldn't be able to go anyway. London is finally getting better to where we can leave her for a couple of hours or so from time to time but still nothing too long and we have regressions from time to time. Hoping that this coming summer is the summer I get to make it up to your cabin though!

How much re-creation do you do? As in that skull is more fantasy (I assume unless you drew something you saw) which can be more forgiving sometimes since people don't know what to expect or look for. The problem with being a tattoo artist is rarely will someone come sit in your chair that says 'I just want a tattoo so draw whatever you want on me' and most of the time you'll be re-creating something they have in their mind or usually a picture of some sort. If they do it's probably because you already did the latter for them at least once and they trust you now. That being said it looks like you've got the basic foundations down to start working on and honing that sort of talent though. I know that most apprentices are required to draw countless pictures identically free-hand before they ever get to touch a machine so something to think of. I say go for it man as it seems the aptitude is there and from the sounds of it it's something you would enjoy based on what you said so.... You only YOLO once! :D

Anyone out here snowboard and want to set up carpooling for this weekend or a few times this season?

I have the Rocky Mountain Superpass Plus+ and have been riding Copper and Mary Jane the most.

It would be nice to have someone who can ride trees or be down for doing Berthoud pass with some snow shoes or something.

Let me know if you're interested. text me or call and leave a message #717-Seven99-0129
